Shock.png
A skill that generates powerful electricity using Wind Crystals from the Cylinder. When active, a glowing shield will form around your body. You will still be able to move and use other skills. Nearby enemies may become stunned or electrocuted, and you will not take any damage. Damage increases with higher MP. (Material: 2 Wind Crystals, 1 Fire Crystal)

Details

  • Allows the player to cast Shock on a target, emitting shockwaves of Fire and Wind around them.
  • You may target yourself, a party member, a pet, your own summoned Golem, or a monster.
  • Shock will damage all enemies within range in a manner similar to Fury of Light.
    • Shock attacks much slower than Fury of Light, discharging at a 2 second interval.
      • All enemies within range will be hit by Shock on each discharge interval.
        • Enemies will not always be hit simultaneously as each enemy has its own interval timer.
        • If an enemy is in range of the skill, but moves away before the next discharge interval, the enemy will not be hit.
          • However, the discharge interval will not reset and should the enemy come within range again after the interval cooldown, they will be shocked immediately.
    • The discharge interval timer starts when an enemy comes in range of Shock.
    • Shock lacks a blast radius and cannot do splash damage.
    • Shock will only stun enemies and will not knock them back, even if they are down or their knockdown gauge is full.
    • Unlike Fury of Light, Shock instantly strikes the target rather than their location and therefore cannot miss.
    • Like Fury of Light, using other skills while being in a shocked state is possible.
  • Shock acts like a Status effect and, as a result, does not limit the character's actions.
  • Like Shadow Spirit and Wings of Rage, Shock can stun certain mobs that have Advanced Heavy Stander.
  • Shock deals damage to all targets within range.
    • Damage is unaffected by Cylinder bonuses and Enchants.
    • Damage is increased by Alchemy Mastery, Fire Alchemy, Wind Alchemy, and 35% of the user's remaining Mana.
      • This is calculated by Base Damage * {1 + 3*[Alchemy Mastery Bonus + (Fire Alchemy Bonus + Wind Alchemy Bonus)/2]} + (Remaining Mana * 0.35)].
    • Damage ignores Defense but does not ignore Protection for dealing damage.
    • Does not do Critical damage.
  • Cooldown starts when the skill is cast.
  • Shock cannot pass through Barrier Spikes, even if they are Rank 5 or higher. However, casting Shock on a target through barrier is still possible with the Barrier Spikes being Rank 5 or higher.
  • Enemies will be stunned for 1 second.
    • At Rank 1 this is increased to 1.5 seconds.
  • Shock will be disabled if Play Dead or Shadow Cloak is used.
  • It is possible to Shock Wyverns in the sky by using Shock on a flying mount and then flying near the Wyverns.
  • If the user is Shocked and equips Brionac, Brionac will absorb Shock and open the Brionac Interface as well as have its stats increased.
    • Brionac will stay in Shock mode for several minutes, even if Shock is rank Novice.
    • Brionac stat boosts increase with the rank of Shock.
    • Unequipping Brionac will cancel its Shock state entirely.
    • Brionac becomes Shocked during Awakening of Light, however using the Shock skill will offer greater boosts to the sword's stats.
    • If Shock is absorbed by Brionac, Shock will no longer deal damage to surrounding enemies.
  • As a Fire and Wind Element, Shock's damage and stun are shunted by both Fire Shield and Lightning Shield.
  • Shock's damage and stun is affected by the level of Mana Deflector of the enemy.
  • Can be loaded during Windmill's animation.
  • Despite being a Fire and Wind alchemy, this skill fills the Water and Wind attributes of the Elemental Wave marble.

Talk to Heledd with the Skills Keyword after learning rank Novice Shock during Generation 11: Sword of the Gods and while not doing another Skill Quest (Arrow Revolver, Final Hit, Final Shot, Fireball, Thunder, Ice Spear, Fusion Bolt, Hail Storm, Campfire Rank C - > B, Composing Rank 8 -> 7, and Musical Knowledge Rank 9 -> 8, 7 -> 6, and 4 -> 1).

Briefing They say that the missing pages of the book I've given you can be found throughout the Shadow Realm. Enchant the book about Shock with the 10 missing pages, in order, and then come see me. - Heledd

Additional Information
  • Heledd will provide a 1x2 book, The Amplification of Electricity and Voltage, to place pages into the book. Be sure to have enough inventory space.
    • Collect pages 1-10 and enchant them into the book. The enchant success rate is 100%.
      • Right-clicking a page and using allows adding higher-ranked pages into the book without needing an enchanter.
      • The pages must be enchanted in order. If a previous page is mistakenly enchanted, progress will revert back to that page.
        • For example, a player's book has up to page 5 enchanted, but they mistakenly re-add page 1; the player would then be required to re-add pages 2 and above.
      • The pages have a time limit, and must be enchanted into the book before it expires.
    • The book cannot be traded or stored on pets but can be put in bank.
    • If the player drops the book, a new page-less one can be acquired by giving up the quest and then re-accepting it.
    • The completed book is not a "book" in the sense that it cannot be opened and read.
  • Forfeiting the quest will not remove the book from the player's inventory.

Training Method

Tips

  • For easy training, the first room of various basic/intermediate Rath Castle Shadow Missions, such as The Sulfur Spider inside Shadow Realm and The Other Alchemists, should provide ideal situations both for stunning multiple enemies simultaneously and killing enemies of strong/awful/boss status. Enemies here have both high CP and low health. This becomes even more ideal for training if you have any CP modifying equipment and should prove invaluable for mastering the skill later.
    • Warning! The requirements will not be read as successful unless you use the skill on yourself.
  • Shadow Cast City is also an easy way to train, as the mobs are relatively easy to kill and spawn in groups of five.

Trivia

  • Shock is the only Combat Alchemy skill that consumes Mana in its casting.
    • Cichol mentions that Neamhain taught Jenna the Shock skill, though she is never actually seen using it.
  • This skill is also known as Spark in oversea servers.
