Herbalism is an essential skill when identifying and gathering herbs in the wilderness. There are exceptional cases of the uninitiated in Herbalism successfully gathering herbs by luck. However, gathering herbs is a very delicate process and beginners in Herbalism can often ruin intact herbs. Rare herbs tend to grow only in the deepest regions of a dungeon and, therefore, you should regularly study the different kinds of herbs and practice a careful gathering skill.

Details

  • Passively increases the success rate of and decreases the time to gather herbs from Herb Patches and grants a chance for the patch to drop two herbs at once.
    • Herb Pig, Clover Gnu and Clover Pig pets can be gathered from, however they are unaffected by Herbalism's bonuses.
    • Requires Bare Hands to gather.
      • Somehow equipping a hand equipment (such as picking it up from the ground) will cause gathering to fail. The error message will say there are no herbs left regardless of herb count.
  • Herbs patches are found in various places. See here for the locations of herb patches.
  • Rank F Herbalism is required to spot Base Herb patches in the outdoor field. However, it is not required to gather from them.
    • These patches are not visible; the spot is labeled "Base Herb." Holding the Alt key hides the patch name.
  • Depending on the type of herb and the rank of the skill, Herbalism can add a 25% picking bonus, as well as a 50% identify bonus to the success rate. These bonuses stack, increasing the success rate by 75%.
    • The identify bonus also changes the patch's name from its color to the herb type.

  • White and Ivory Herbs as well as Golden Herbs and Mandrakes have identical appearances.

  1. Requires 4 stamina to pick herbs, but only consumes listed stamina per second.
  2. Herbalism does not add to Skill Combat Power.

  • Complete a Healer's House Part-time Job for Manus bringing your total of successfully completed jobs to 10 or more. When they offer to teach the skill, agree. An owl will then deliver a quest involving gathering a single Base Herb for the respective NPC.
    • You can do the first nine (or more) part-time jobs at other Healer's Houses. Doing one Healer's House job for Manus after doing nine elsewhere suffices.
    • Despite what the quest briefings say, you can gather the herb from any Base Herb patch, not necessarily one from the mentioned dungeon. Gathering the herb from a Clover Gnu or Pig pet, or receiving one as a monster drop will also work. Having a Base Herb already in one's inventory, receiving it from another player, or looting it from the ground will not count.

How to Get Quest

Complete Healer's House Part-Time Job for 10th or more time with Manus.

Briefing This job is to look for the herbs we talked about before. Please dig up the base herb. You may find some if you go to Rabbie Dungeon. I suppose you don't know what the base herb is, but there there won't be a problem if you look for the green herb. Look out for just one thing, herbs have to be gathered carefully with bare hands. You may have some difficulties because you don't know about Herbalism but good luck! Huhu - Manus -

Training Method

Tips

  • The Polar Hornets in Silva Forest may leave patches of White Herbs upon their death. It is much easier to collect White Herbs from these Hornets than from Peaca Dungeon.
  • At later ranks it is advised to go to Solea to collect herbs such as Mandrakes, Poison Herbs, and Antidote Herbs.
  • An empty patch will still contribute to "Try to pick a Herb". When the herbs have all been picked, hold down the ALT key and click the name of the herb patch.
  • Picking herbs from Herb Pigs and Clover Gnus count towards "Succeed at picking a Herb" training requirements for the herb that is picked.
    • If no herb is picked, or a base herb is picked, this will count towards the "Try to pick a Herb" requirements for base herbs only.
    • Herb Patches must be used to fulfill "Try to pick a Herb" requirements for all other herb types.
