Fusion Bolt is an advanced technique that combines the powers of two different types of Bolt Magic. In the past, two party members needed to cast different magic attacks. After much research, a single person can now accomplish the same feat. This can be achieved by first casting Bolt Magic with the currently equipped magic tool, then manually casting Bolt Magic of a different attribute.

Details

  • Allows a single player to cast Magic Fusion bolts without a partner.
  • Requires a Wand or a Staff equipped in order to use this skill.
  • This skill is used by casting a bolt followed by another bolt, causing them to become fused.
    • The second must be started while the first is still loading; the icon will change to indicate that it is now a fused bolt. Repeat the whole process to stack charges.
    • Both bolts may be charged at the same time.
      • The player will charge the initial bolt with the right hand, and the secondary bolt with the left.
    • Mana will be consumed for both bolts.
    • Weapon and Elemental Mastery effects will be applied to their respective spells.
  • If the user changes weapons, the skill will cancel.
    • If the user unequips the wand, the skill will not be canceled.
  • Icebolt allows the fused bolt be fired multiple times.
    • Firing a fused Icebolt prevents the user from creating additional charges and must deplete all charges before more can be cast.
  • Firebolt causes the bolt to knock down the target, unless they possess Advanced Heavy Stander.
  • Lightning Bolt causes the bolt to strike multiple enemies.
  • Fusion Bolt can cancel if the user does these things:
    • Attempting to mix different types of bolts when a fused bolt is already present. For example, trying to mix Icebolt and Firebolt when the user already has one charge of Ice Lightning will cause a backfire.
    • Casting only the first bolt for additional charges of a fused bolt.
  • Attempting to use Fusion Bolt with any level of Chain Casting will cause only the element of the wand's bolt to be chained, but only one charge of the other bolt.
    • This results in having only one charge of the fused bolts, followed by the remaining chained bolt charges (when ice is included in the fusion).
    • The non-chained bolt must be casted first to fuse.
  • Fusion Bolt's damage is calculated as (Bolt A + Bolt B)(1 + Bolt_Fusion_Bonus).
    • Bolt damage is the damage the bolt would normally do with all bonuses factored in.
    • Having the Bolt Mastery title equipped does not contribute damage to Fusion Bolt.
    • When fusing with Firebolt, only Firebolt's damage will be multiplied by the charge count. At 5 charges the damage of the entire fused bolt will be increased by 30%.
  • Although Evasion evades Icebolt, Firebolt, and Lightning Bolt, it cannot be used to evade Fusion Bolt.
  • Magic Shields will not work against a fused bolt due to the fused bolts having two elements.
