This skill charges the Mana Bullet with an attractive force that pulls you to the target. Using it on friends and pets won't damage them, so you can use it to play around!

Details

  • Requires Dual Guns to use.
  • Attaches a magic line to an ally or enemy regardless of their conscious/unconscious state and then slides and rolls towards them.
    • The magic line pulls the user to the target's location as to when this skill was used.
    • The magic line itself does not damage nor stun anyone.
    • Once the character reaches an enemy, they will shoot once to damage and stun them.
    • It may also be used on other players, NPCs, Pets, Partners, Summon Golems, and marionettes but the second shot is not fired.
      • The other character does not have to be in the same party as you.
      • Attempting to use Grapple Shot on one's own Partner with their chat enabled will prompt the character to run toward them instead.
      • You can not ctrl-target mobile NPCs such as Hens or unconscious characters, however.
    • It is possible to target an enemy frozen by Ice Spear or Ice Mines, though the second shot will not fire as they cannot be damaged in that state.
    • Barrier Spikes are counted as an enemy regardless of who made them.
      • It is also possible to target someone behind them, however it does no damage to neither the enemy nor the spikes and it is not possible to go through them.
  • The skill consumes 2 bullets in the user's chamber.
    • If used without bullets in the magazine, the message "Not enough Mana Bullets." will appear and Reload will execute automatically.
  • The user can be attacked in the middle of the skill, interrupting the second shot, however the grapple cannot be stopped.
    • However, if the user's Auto Defense activates, the second shot is not interrupted.
  • Grapple Shot triggers Defense.
  • Grapple Shot can hit enemies in Flight.
  • Unlike other Distance-based skills, Grapple Shot targets the edge of a creature's hitbox rather than the center of it, allowing Grapple Shot users to hit the target without going too close to it.
    • However, due to its minimum range, enemies with large hitboxes, such as Giant Spiders, may be difficult to target with Grapple Shot.
  • Bullet Slide can be used directly after performing Grapple Shot.
    • Flash Launcher may also be used afterwards, but you must manually click the target once more.
  • Grapple Shot cannot be used if too close to the target; the message "The target is too close to you." will appear if attempted.
    • Likewise, the message "The target is too far from you." will appear if attempted out of range.
    • The skill cannot be interrupted even if the target moves in or out of its range once the grappling line is fired.
  • Can be used during Counterattack and Windmill's animation.
  • As a Ranged ability, the effects are shunted by Natural Shield.

Skill Issues

  • Grapple Shot may cause displacement lag for the user, as well as anyone around the user.
    • In addition, it may seem like the user did not move from their current position at all or suddenly jet forward into the target's position.
  • Grapple Shot may not pull your character in all the way, stopping midway.
