Talk:Options Dialog

From Mabinogi World Wiki
  • looks good! =) and I found this very helpful -- Ladywinter 00:49, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm glad the screen shots and the inclusion of the tool tips were found helpful. Unfortunately, there isn't much help beyond the tool tips in game (Nexon has really poor documentation). Hopefully I'll find some time to add layman's terms explanations of what some of these options mean. -- Traeonna
  • I feel like an idiot now for not running spell check on my earlier edit. -- Deathbob 16:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • My screen keeps turning around automaticaly. When I change it with 'right click and drag' about 7 seconds later it returns to the original postion. This didn't happen when I first joined Mabinogi. I tried to change up my options, and it still happens. Does anyone know of anyway I could fix this? Please help - Hershey687 1:39, 3 September 2009 (EST)
You've got autocamera on. Just press z (I think). ---Angevon 17:58, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Antialiasing

I have a very, very powerful computer, but the option box for antialiasing is always greyed out and I can't select anything. Anyone else have this problem? Is it built into Mabi? IHarryl 06:06, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

As far as I know, FSAA is disabled for everyone. But.. there are some "things", which I shall never speak of on the wiki, that can serve as an alternative. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 06:31, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
You can set custom (forced) FSAA on mabi (client.exe) through your graphics card settings, if you have a dedicated graphics card.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 07:32, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
I've set forced Antialiasing settings through my graphics card, but that forces it onto a lot of other games too- despite me specifying the .exe. Oh well- I was only wondering if it was my messed up version of Mabi or if it was common. Thanks. IHarryl 07:40, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Rendering Specular

What exactly does this option do? I turned it on and off over and over, and saw no changes. Edit: here's my sign, sorry :P --Sephy 06:17, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Keyboard Zoom

No matter where I map the Zoom Out/Zoom In hotkey in keyboard settings, it doesn't work. Also, neither does zooming in/out with the pad. I can only toggle mabi's zoom with a mouse. . .

Pyro - (Talk)00:35, 14 September 2013

EXACTLY! FINALLY!

Then use a mouse...

DANTE20XX (talk)10:38, 14 September 2013

Not worth it, I'd rather use a trap pad then lag a few seconds to go into full screen mode to move my cursor to the edge of the screen. Mouses just slow me down way too much.

Pyro - (Talk)11:29, 14 September 2013

If only there was a way to lock the mouse into the window...

DANTE20XX (talk)12:07, 14 September 2013

There is, but that doesn't let you toggle zoom in windowed mode, and who actually plays in fullscreen by choice?

Pyro - (Talk)12:50, 14 September 2013

No, I'm saying you can use a mouse, lock the mouse to the window and/or just make the window the exact size so you can't click out if it anyways and then you can zoom with the mouse wheel like a normal person.

DANTE20XX (talk)13:22, 14 September 2013

Why would I want to not be able to click out of the window in windows mode if locking it in the window won't let me zoom by dragging the mouse to the edge of the screen? And the whole point of this thread is to not use a mouse.

Pyro - (Talk)19:20, 14 September 2013

You said you wanted to move the mouse to the edge of the screen (for whatever reason). I don't know why you'd wanna do that....As I said just play in windowed mode and use a mouse. Mouse wheel zooms in/out. Problem completely solved! You're welcome.

DANTE20XX (talk)22:17, 14 September 2013

As I said, I'd rather not be able to zoom than use a mouse. And I did not say move my mouse to the edge of the screen, I said the cursor. When playing in fullscreen mode, that toggles zoom and camera angle. That is what I meant.

Pyro - (Talk)00:19, 15 September 2013

I don't get what's wrong with using a mouse. Nobody seriously like using a touch pad right?

DANTE20XX (talk)11:29, 15 September 2013

Me and my friends have a similar impression on mouses.

Pyro - (Talk)12:18, 15 September 2013

You know some very odd people who hate the most precise control method there is. Very VERY odd.

DANTE20XX (talk)15:44, 15 September 2013

I'd appreciate it if you didn't start a tangent purely on the basis of a personal opinion.

Pyro - (Talk)23:55, 15 September 2013

Mouse? precised? please, I get better methods using a touch screen/tablet.

まそっぷ ! (talk)16:07, 15 September 2013

That's using your finger directly on the screen silly! That's not the same thing at all.

DANTE20XX (talk)23:42, 15 September 2013

I suppose you can use some external program to emulate the mouse and use unused/unbounded keys to do said functions...

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:14, 14 September 2013

Excellent idea! Thank you.

Pyro - (Talk)00:19, 15 September 2013

That probably won't work as well as it sounds, considering it's Mabinogi. Mabi doesn't like external key binds.

There's a few programs out there. I won't mention it, as it may bring malicious intent...I use one for my broken touchpad laptop since I, unfortunately, also fried the USB ports while fixing it myself. bad idea.

I do actually...and I know a few that do also.

まそっぷ ! (talk)13:13, 14 September 2013

It's mislabled. It actually increases your field of view/environment rendering....Don't ask why, I tested it myself.

That's also why I made the "Default Hotkeys" section, which explains everything.

Extra Hotkey slot

is there a way to remove a skill if you placed it in the wrong place? I'm talking about those 2 extra hotkey bars.

S•A•R•I•A15:09, 6 May 2012

Right click? Like in the normal hotkey bar?

Oneris15:13, 6 May 2012

You need to either put one over it or unlock it, remove it, then relock it. Once locked, you can't accidentally remove a skill icon.

Pyro - (Talk)16:35, 6 May 2012

x.x unlocking it was what I needed to do

Range of Vision

Just how much of a difference is game speed between 100% and 300%?

Infodude57520:26, 4 May 2012

Well, your field of vision isn't all that useful. It just makes it so that you can see more of the environment. You still can't see mobs even if you upped the range of vision. As for as game speed, less is better.
