Taunt.png
A skill that draws the attention of nearby monsters to yourself. Once an enemy is drawn in, it will solely attack you for a fixed amount of time, so it is a great skill that can be used to help party members who are in danger. Since it can be used with the Wind Guard skill, it is advantageous to learn them together.

Details

  • Giant-only skill.
  • Performs a gesture that provokes nearby monsters into attacking aggressively, violating all aggro principles.
  • Successful taunts will cause small puffs of steam to appear above the enemy.
  • Can be used while Wind Guard is active.
  • Enemy Barrier Spikes can be taunted.

Skill Issues

  • Taunt's range extends past its normal range, even affecting enemies outside the rendering distance.
  • The puffs of steam do not appear.

Briefing If you know how to control your emotions, you can become a great warrior. Try to master your fears, show compassion toward others, and conceal your violent energy. Then you will be able to lure your enemies and learn the Taunt skill. - Taunes

Additional Information
  • To acquire a Pot of Basil, one must access Wanst's Secret Shop.
    • Wanst likes the Underwear Set gift, which can be found at Zeder's store.
    • It is possible to be friend with Wanst ("really friendly vibe") without giving him Underwear, by only giving him 1 gold many times (240~300) whilst speaking with him with the Private Story Keyword and Nearby Rumors Keyword. However, this is much more time consuming than using Underwear.
      • An ideal method is to alternate between 1 Gold and Underwear Sets when talking to Wanst.
    • It may be ideal to use Likeability Potions and/or Glittering Gems.
    • The Pot of Basil costs 2,000 Gold and is located in the "Special Prize" tab of Wanst's shop.

Training Method

Tips

  • Taunting 3 or more mobs will count towards training "Successfully attract multiple enemies."
    • Combat Power does not matter for this requirement so it is best to go to places with low leveled mobs such as Foxes in Tir Chonail.
    • You can also attempt it on Zombies in Another World due to their slow speed and abundance.
    • Make a party with the Finish Rule as "Anyone in the Party" and in a Mimic room, Kill 1 Mimic and do not finish it. Instead, use Taunt and it will count towards attracting multiple enemies if there are at least 3 mimics dormant nearby.
