Houston, we have a problem

Could rename the old category to "Hidden Actions" since all the fused bolt skills have only one rank and the new sharp mind can't be ranked.

Except Magic Fusion is technically a skill.

Infodude575 (talk)10:16, 25 April 2013

Magic Fusion is technically 3 skills.

If you want to be even more technical, Magic Fusion isn't even a skill. It's just the server determining wether or not to give you a special charge of another skill depending on your proximity from another character casting a skill within the time limit.

The skill part would be the bolts, which exist only to hold charges and and function properly.

Fusion Bolt Is a normal(rankable) skill that enables you activate the original Magic Fusion skills without a partner. The skill part of regular magic fusion (the 2 person one in the other category) is 3 hidden skills that have only one rank. Skills with only one rank (especially the automatic ones like Normal Attack and the old versions of the gathering skills) have been officially called Actions ever since the Action Window was implemented.

Technically, the three fused bolts (IceFire, IceLightning & FireLightning) are single rank skills (AKA Actions) that are hidden, and "Magic Fusion" is just a feature of the game system and not a skill or action.

Yes, I know what Fusion Bolt and Magic Fusion are.

And since when were 'one rank skills' officially called Actions? The official actions are those in the Action Window.

Normal Attack technically shouldn't even be an action, that was just implemented for convenience. It still utilizes Combat Mastery and Ranged Attack.

That explanation was a reply to Infodude's post about fusion being a skill.

Weren't the old gathering skills actions?

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)18:55, 25 April 2013

They were skills, just like the current ones.

All the Actions are technically Skills.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)20:10, 25 April 2013

They couldn't have been "skills". Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to get points in production mastery for doing something "without using a skill".

The server decides whether or not to give you exp, not your client.

Yes, but what the client displays is how we usually pick the terminology. Though that line could have just been more of Nexon's famous typos and inconsistent/imprecise/inaccurate wording.
