Past Compliation Updates

Pioneers of Iria (G4~G6), G10, G11, and G12 seasons were all added together in one bundle. This is an NA wiki; should we change to reflect that or leave it as it is?

Infodude575 (talk)22:15, 25 March 2014

leave it as is and just make sure we note that they were released simultaneously.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)16:08, 26 March 2014

I think we should change to reflect that. It doesn't make any sense to divide them up when it was a single update.

Meru (talk)16:33, 26 March 2014

I'm fine with either for previous updates, but in future updates we should merge/divide updates as they come (like what happened with Druid/Zero and Diva.)

Kapra - (Talk)18:08, 26 March 2014

By merging, we'd lose some detail. This wiki is mainly for NA, yes, but we don't romove stuff based on other servers unless it actually conflicts with what we get in NA, and we didn't get those in a backwards order or anything, we just got more than one gen in the same patch.

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)20:19, 26 March 2014

How could we possibly lose details? It was released like that, so it should be recorded as it was released. We get things whenever NA feels like giving them to us. Even if it's part of some far later update in other servers, such as the dressing room.

Meru (talk)20:43, 26 March 2014

Well if we're worried about how KR gets its updates, we can make its own page for that or a separate section of the same page. (We are also working on archiving those updates on mabination.)

However, NA does not follow the same order as KR. After the saga, KR got the update Zero/Druid, then Diva, then Diva part 2, then Vate, then Dressroom, then Project Dream, then Master Chef, etc.
NA separated Druid into two patches, Enlightenment and Druid. It later released Druid while being partially merged with the Project Dream update. We then got Diva part 1 and 2 merged with the dressroom and almost all of the Project Dream patch in a patch called Starlet. No facts are lost besides what order Korea received these updates. And generally, this page follows KR's format until NA gets them, then it is the primary goal to archive what happened in NA.

Was G10-12 really added all toghether? Then I see no reason why it shouldn't be bumped together. My only problem is whether it did or it did not.

Nise Panda (talk)13:46, 29 May 2014

No, its not G10-G12, its G10S1-G10S#, G11S1-G11S#, etc.

Infodude575 (talk)13:52, 29 May 2014

But yea, we should probably merge those updates if we did get them all at once. (I was on hiatus after G8 and before G13 so I have no proof that they were single updates.)

Kapra - (Talk)17:27, 29 May 2014

I don't see anything about season 1's or 2's on the wiki general mabinogi news archives, and I certainly can't remember such a detail from so long ago. Maybe a s2 for g9, but g10, g11, and g12 seem to have no extra updates aside from their main updates and pets that I see. I still get the feeling g11 wasn't one update though, even though there's no indication on the wiki. It doesn't help that every single one of the links in the archives to nexon's site doesn't work. It also doesn't help that I always slack on the story line until the next story line is out. I'd say merge the seasons anyway. G11 even lists its updates twice. I think it'd also be cool to shrink down the page with more spoiler boxes.

Meru (talk)18:35, 29 May 2014

I'm totally on board with the spoiler box thing. However the structure of the entire page is already divided by Generations and not "updates". The Generations are the major milestones of the game, and I don't think we should mess with that. There is nothing significant to be gained by 'merging' them any more than simply saying above G4 header that we got 4-6 at the same time. If you really need it more technically correct, page should either be renamed or completely redone to actually talk about all of the patches we had (from verson 1 up to whatever we are)

On a similar note, I think we should totally ignore version numbers (which basically count the number of updates and bug fixes), except for possibly out own because we know that easily, and simply remark which milestone each version is on. For example Korea: g47 Japan: g46 NA: g22 EU: g1

Then when someone gets a generation ahead, we can start adding it at the bottom.
