Valentine's Day Event (2011)

Basic Information

They say love takes dedication. In the Valentine's event, your dedication will be tested!

Starting on February 14th, a quest to bake a cake will drop from your faithful owl. You will be required to gather the necessary ingredients to bake a Chocolate Cake of love. Unfortunately, it will take several days for you to gather the materials and wait for the batter to sweeten. Over the course of February 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and finally, the 19th, you will be required to complete another step to completing the magical cake batter. In other words, you'll need to log in and complete a step from February 14th to February 19th! Once your batter has fully ripened, take it to Caitin and she will bake it into a delicious (or not-so-delicious) Chocolate Cake!

There might even be some leftovers from your cake, of which Caitin will happily hand over to you.

Love is in the air, so bake a cake and eat it, too!

How to Get Quest	Upon logging in, an owl will deliver the quest. Only female characters will receive this quest.
Briefing	Purchase tools to bake a chocolate cake and then bake one with the handicraft skill!
Objectives	The first step is to make Yolk Foam. Yolk Foam requires 5 Eggs and a Valentine's Day Cake Kit. The first step is untranslated The second step is "Make Egg White Foam with Egg and some Sugar." Egg White Foam requires 5 Eggs, 1 Sugar, and a Valentines's Day Cake Kit.
Rewards	3,200 Experience Points
Additional Information	All of this is done with the Handicraft skill, not the Cooking skill. The Valentine's Day Cake Kit can be found under the Event tab in any grocery store NPC's shop for 1,500 gold. Complete the quest. The next quest will arrive on the 15th to 19th.

How to Get Quest	Upon logging in after the 15th, an owl will deliver the quest. Only female characters will receive this quest.
Briefing	Purchase tools to bake a chocolate cake and then bake one with the handicraft skill!
Objectives	Make Whip Cream with Milk and Sugar Whip Cream also requires a Valentine's Day Cake Kit.

Objectives	Make Yolk Dough with Yolk Foam, Wheat Flour, and Whip Cream Yolk Dough also requires a Valentine's Day Cake Kit.

Objectives	Make Chocolate Cake Dough with Yolk Dough and Melted Chocolate Chocolate Cake Dough also requires a Valentine's Day Cake Kit.
Rewards	3,200 Experience Points
Additional Information	All of this is done with the Handicraft skill, not the Cooking skill. The Valentine's Day Cake Kit and Melted Chocolate can be found under the Event tab in any grocery store NPC's shop for 1,500 gold and 100 gold, respectively. Complete the quest. The next quest will arrive on the 18th to 19th.

How to Get Quest	Upon logging in after the 18th, an owl will deliver the quest. Only female characters will receive this quest.
Briefing	Purchase tools to bake a chocolate cake and then bake one with the handicraft skill!
Objectives	Make Rising Dough with Chocolate Cake Dough and Egg White Foam Rising Dough also requires a Valentine's Day Cake Kit. Egg White Foam is used despite the fact that the quest says egg
Rewards	3,200 Experience Points

How to Get Quest	Upon logging in on the 19th, an owl will deliver the quest. Only female characters will receive this quest.
Briefing	Deliver the dough to Caitin in Tir Chonaill to make a cake.
Objectives	Deliver the Rising Dough to Caitin
Rewards	3,200 Experience Points Chocolate Cake x 1 Leftover Chocolate Tidbit x 1 Chocolate Ribbon Headband x 1
Additional Information	You will get a keyword upon first talking to her. She may tell you someone else is using the oven, so keep talking to her with the keyword until you get your cake. Be sure to clear the quest before talking to Caitin with either Keyword, or the quality of your Hair Ribbon may suffer After getting the cake, you'll receive leftovers which can then be exchanged for the headband using another keyword. Make sure to use the keyword and not actually gift her the item by dragging it onto her. You will lose the item and still have the keyword, however, you may be able to obtain another Leftover Chocolate Tidbit by trading from someone else. You will still have the Rising Dough and Leftover Chocolate Tidbit even after making the cake and getting the headband. You cannot make another cake or get another headband with this (as the keywords disappear after one use).

Notes

• Each quest will be given consecutively each day from the 14^th to the 19^th.
  • You do not need to complete each quest on the day they are given. However you will need to complete them before the event ends.
  • Logging in will give you the current day's quest, and all days before it. (i.e, if you log in on the 19th, you will receive all 6 quests.
  • Items from the quests are needed in order for Caitin to bake the Chocolate Cake, so hold onto them. If you do happen to lose any of the items, you can remake them while the event is still running.
• The event is for female characters only.
  • It is unknown if male characters will get a white day event in a month's time.
• It is possible to put the Rising Dough in a pet after completing the quest and have another character get the Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Ribbon Headband.
  • The cake will not be of as high quality as if you did the quests daily.
• Caitin will not appear in her store during the Emain Macha Cooking Contest on Channel 3.
  • She will be away from her shop during these times: 12pm - 3pm PST (3pm - 5pm EST) and 8pm - 12pm PST (11pm - 1am EST)
  • You will not be able to complete the quest from talking to her at the Cook-Off Arena either.
  • Caitin will appear in her store on all other channels except Channel 3 during those times.
