Polonius is the Lord Chamberlain of Denmark. He is the father of Laertes and Ophelia. He plays his parts in Hamlet.

Story of Hamlet

Act 1 Scene 2

Polonius is introduced. However, he says nothing.

Act 1 Scene 3

Polonius greets Laertes who is leaving for France. After the son leaves, Polonius warns his daughter, Ophelia, that Hamlet cannot be trusted.

Act 1 Scene 5

Polonius's butler summons a messenger to deliver a luggage to a servant at the docks, but warns that monsters have been roaming about lately. When the messenger gets to the docks, they find Shakespeare instead.
