Description

Reforging is an upgrade that can reveal the hidden power of an item.

Details

  • Requires an Equipment Reforging Tool to perform. Most General Stores sell them for 5,000 Gold each.
    • The Allied Human discount offered in Vales and Filia also applies to Equipment Reforging Tools, as does the Alban Heruin (Wednesday) discount.
  • Can be performed on almost any piece of Equipment.
  • Reforging grants Random Attributes to the equipment.
    • Up to three attributes may be obtained.
    • Certain attributes are limited to certain pieces of equipment. (e.g. ranged enhancements on ranged weapons)
    • Certain attributes' effects may have a max level. (e.g. movement speed is maxed at level 5 regardless of rank)
  • Items will be given a rank that indicates the absolute maximum level to which the attribute effects may be enhanced. (Note: Some attributes have lower max levels, e.g. Protection max levels are 1, 2, and 4 at ranks 3, 2, and 1 respectively.
    • Rank 3 effects go from 1 ~ 5
    • Rank 2 effects go from 1 ~ 10
    • Rank 1 effects go from 1 ~ 20
    • The Equipment Reforging Tool has a very rare chance of starting at Rank 2.
  • Items that give Training EXP bonuses grant a 10% bonus to Training EXP per level for that particular skill.
    • For example, if a player had a Gathering Knife had Production Mastery Training EXP 2 Level reforged onto it, and the user had Rank 3 Production Mastery with 12 points of training into the "Succeed in creating or gathering an item using a skill." criterion, upon equipping the knife, the training amount will change from "Succeed in creating or gathering an item using a skill. +3.00(12/60)" to "Succeed in creating or gathering an item using a skill. +3.60(12/60)" while that particular Gathering Knife is equipped.
      • Upon un-equipping the affected item, training values return to their original amounts.
      • As such, this attribute is useful for ranking skills up by increasing the training value each point provides. It provides no use for those trying to obtain "Master" titles.
      • While the values do change, the training increase is not retroactive. The training you have done already will remain at its original values. Only training done with the affected gear will receive the increased Training EXP.
      • If multiple items with training increase for the same skill are equipped, only the highest level reforge will take effect.
  • Reforged status increases (HP, MP, Strength, etc.) can be applied to anything that will take a reforge.
  • Advanced Reforging Tools essentially replace any previous reforges, possibly with a higher rank; however, the number of attributes will remain the same. Credne's Reforging Tools have the same effect as Advanced Reforging Tools, but can change the number of attributes on an item.
