page protection request(s)/suggestion(s )

Since the lag page contains instructions for messing with the registry, if it were vandalized some newbies might seriously mess up their computers. It might be a good idea to lock that page.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, everything in [[Category:In-game Books]] is meant not to provide information about how the game works but to be a database of exactly what is written in the in game books. Some new editors aren't aware of this and correct things that shouldn't be corrected. The only thing that should really need to be edited on those pages is the box in the corner that says the details like where to get it. If that box is moved to a separate page that is then transcluded into the book's page, and then the book's page is locked, that should prevent unnecessary corrections to the book's contents and leave the other info editable. I can do the moving/transcluding myself, but that would just be a waste of time unless an admin protects the page afterward. Do you think that would be worth doing, or just to much work just for preventing occasional revert wars?--Sozen Cratos Focker 08:12, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Sort of related to this, can we get a protection on Your Pet? This is probably the main book, that I know of, that gets reverted back and forth between what's shown in the book, and what's correct. --Duet 16:32, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Asking a favor

I'm adding the classic couple suits and they're estimated for G11 s2, i was wondering if you could possibly put that in the future content box? the template says it's protected. sorry to bug ya ^^" Miyani 12:29, 12 March 2010 (UTC) And possibly add a (F) to the female page, i forgot it, i'm so sorry. Miyani 12:38, 12 March 2010 (UTC) Ok thanks for the tips, also i meant for the future content thing, i see some pages have expected dates in them, but add the future content tagline doesn't, is there anyway i can edit it myself to put in expected dates? thank you ^^ Miyani 21:08, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

updated images to being transparent

ok... since i will be getting a new computer and be losing the fireworks program i have on my computer I've been looking around the wiki for images that obviously need the backgrounds changed (as in they show the grid-lines or look odd or off in any way. but because some of the files are in jpg or in gif they can't become transparent (in my opinion they are pretty bad quality files for small images anyways) so I've been updating a few to being png but that leaves a empty file that doesn't link to anywhere. I'm keeping a list of files i orphan on my page and the new file that's the updated version of it.--chrissy of hailfire 16:07, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

image cleanup

hello, i was wondering if you could remove all the images but the current ones on the Casual Cross-Stitch Dress and St. Patrick's Day Suit (F)? the ones by azubb and tintin are against wiki policy anyway, and seem to have been part of an edit war in the past, and maybe another coming with the recent revisions. Problem User

Hi and sorry to pass this problem on to you but I really can't do anything about it. Miyani originally posted this message on my talk page;

"The user MabinogiEU Has vandalized my personal user page and has uploaded several policy breaking pages and images. All of their contributions are just pages made on the wiki for users on the mabinogi europe servers. after i nominated them for deletion he overwrote them ad replaced my reasons with "i'm a noob", he has also done this to my own user page and then blanked it out. I am requesting this user be suspended as i don't believe they will ever be a useful user here."

However, her original post on my talk page was vandalised by a user called Sapyo and then reverted back to its original form by Miyani, vandalised again by Sapyo and then reverted by a user called W960i. Miyani's user page appears to have been vandalised by MabinogiEU and VeIocity7. Sapyo and VeIocity7 have been banned but MabinogiEU's account seems not to have been. Users Cyrus and W960i appear to have reverted the vandalism on Miyani's user page. I don't know why Miyani asked me for help but I guess telling you is the best I can do for her. --ZRoc (Talk) 08:50, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Is there no way at all to limit who edits certain pages like the front of the wiki? In the past 3-5 days I've noticed countless people putting false information on the wiki and fighting whenever someone changes it back. Is there no way to prevent this? =/--Saix7 19:04, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Broken Link

I had edited your user page to remove a link that is broken in your useful link section. Someone reverted it, and left me a message that I shouldn't edit someone elses user page. I am sorry for that, I didn't think it would be a problem. However I would still like to suggest that the link "Erinn Times (good ego info, slightly engrish) - http://mabinogi.biz/" because the link now leads to a site that just contains ad links. Zemlor

Propose Equipment list changes.

ok... i know formatting code can be a pain the the butt. but the equipment lists having the black background isn't matching with the rest of the site or even allow some images to be seen clearly i would be willing to attempt at starting to change the lists if you would allow me to. i've started to work on the shoes list to show what it would look like. please tell me if i got the go ahead for this.--chrissy of hailfire 09:46, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

ok... how would i bring it up to peoples attention? i dont necessary want to do what random had done once and post on everyone that was online's talk page about it... i'm also seeing it as a simplified version for editing as well as the editing code is much shorter in the new version. since doing the update to the images i've had a few issues finding where the image is in the tabled code.--chrissy of hailfire 05:04, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

RE: Unused Image

Sure thing, go ahead and delete it. --Justified 16:03, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

a couple of proposals

Hi there, i'd like to make a couple suggestions. First, is it possible to put a bolded message on the "upload file" page requesting users to read the image policy page? i think this would help alot with cutting down the number of useless files that get overwritten and the number of edit/revert image wars that occur because people take it personally that their image was overwritten.

On a similar note, is it possible to have the policy tweaked a bit asking that details on outfits be clearly represented when uploading the image? for example the old photos of the Mabinogi School Uniform (F).

And lastly, i started tinkering with a visual confirmation system on my user page. If it isn't too much trouble could you give it a look later and let me know what you think? there's a couple styles available at the moment.

And is it possible to get that thumbnail to move under the text it's supposed to be under? it's veering all the way to the right and it looks bad i think.

Miyani 17:18, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

alrighty i'll ask him about the upload thing. and well, it isn't an issue of resolution. but white and black aren't the only colors that can kill detail. i'm not sure how to word it exactly, maybe request that people not upload images that are too close in color to display detail/not intentionally upload images that hide the details of the suit? the method to obtain was added because sometimes nexon release multiple events, plus in events like the st patrick's day event there were multiple ways to obtain the same item. one question too, should the "proof of prize" be put in the policy or no? thanks for your time. Miyani 22:49, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

something like that yeah, in the set i linked to the previous image the coat is really light and so is the trim, so you can't even see it hardly, and unless you were looking for it you might not even notice it's there. Miyani 02:00, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Person attempting to make a page on glitching

H1111 is the User, Glitching is the page that they made, I've blanked it, and am going to write a note in the discussion page, but this should probably be watched or something. Posting this to IRJ's talk page too. -- Ladywinter 03:30, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

About the Leather Long Bow discussion page

On there, you've said that the proper spelling is dying, but I've checked around the internet, and sources say dyeing is the correct spelling. Here's one example. http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/dyeing.html --Sephy 05:28, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I looked at the history, and I swear I saw it had said you made the change, saying to NOT change it back to "dyeing".

Re: Hidden Text

For the template Template:HiddenTextHeader, add the parameter Show and give it any value except "none" or a blank value. For example,

{{HiddenTextStart|Title=Hidden Text Box's Title|Show=Yes|Width=800}}

For collapsible tables, don't add collapsed to the table's class parameter, i.e., a collapsed table (hidden table and/or text) will have;

class="collapsible collapsed"

but a uncollapsed table (table and/or text showing by default) only uses;

class="collapsible"

Is either of the above what you were looking for? --ZRoc (Talk) 14:08, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Monster Template

I don't suppose I could whip up a monster template for normal monsters (that follows the shadow mission template) and put the trial template under Q/A for discussion? I would not be affecting the monster template at all unless I'm given clear go ahead, instead I'd be making a separate template to test out the formatting and doing it all in my sandbox. -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 00:53, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

User:Ladywinter/sandbox = results of the test template. Will post this on Q/A. -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 18:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

The Q&A section for the monster template is getting really unwieldy, any ideas on what to do? o.0 I was thinking of putting the dealt with threads in a scroll box, and leaving out side the current threads. It would be basically a single line of code.

Or um, I added section headers to the Q/A for monster templates? Is that all right? o.o;; (head hurting at threads, attempting to find solution) -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 03:42, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

If I was to want to switch out the monster templates, after having gotten enough feedback, what would be the proper procedure to go about doing it with the least amount of stepping on toes/making the server cry? What I've figured out so far is to change it at 1am PST on a Monday, and to change the data template to reflect the new template. Is there anything else I should do? Also, do you think the template I've been working on is done/approaching done? Is there anything else I can do with it? o.0 -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 08:11, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
(Be ready for some whining when it is, because some people just can't stand change.) ~nods~ and working on the tables now, good comments. -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 16:26, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
OH almost forgot, ZRoc said that the monster template was protected? D= How does it become unprotected so that I can change it? Or does he just mean that it's harder for the average user to get to it? -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 16:28, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
=D thank you kindly! -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 17:42, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
cosmetic color change test, dunno if I like it though that may just be inertia. I like the font better tho. Thoughts? User:Ladywinter/sandbox -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 02:23, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Template:Shadow Monster Droplist

I know your on vacation (trying not to be jealous) but when you come back, have a look at the Shadow Monster Droplist template. I edited it to make it more like a normal table rather than including all the code from the Shadow Monster template (also gave the table heading a border). If you don't like it then you can simply revert it to the earlier version. Hope your having fun =P --ZRoc (Talk) 05:18, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello

Welcome back =3 --ZRoc (Talk) 07:28, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

User:Naota3

User:Naota3 is using the Template:Infobox on their user page (instead of Template:CharacterInfobox) which is listing it in Category:NPC. I left a message on their user page asking them to change it but that was on the 8th of May. This user has done one contribution since then, at 5:15 am (wiki time) on the 17th of May and it's 4.40 pm now (wiki time), but has not changed the template name as requested. Could you please edit their user page, as I obviously am not allowed to XD. I asked Aramet while you were *envy* on holiday *jealousy* but nothing changed. --ZRoc (Talk) 16:40, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

That was quick XD. Thank you =3 --ZRoc (Talk) 16:43, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Template:StyleMonster

The template is no longer protected, even though we are using the new server I think it should remain protected. The new server is quicker but still lags when a lot of users are on and will therefore have serious lag should someone casually edit this template. --ZRoc (Talk) 19:13, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Could you please look into the recent contributions by "Fallenboy", they seem to be another lil vandal. Miyani 08:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Template:StyleMonster (Again)

User:Kotarou3 edited that template recently and I lost complete access to the wiki, I gave up after trying to open a page for 10 minutes and getting "cannot connect to site" page. Again, please protect that template so that casual edits are not done, especially during heavy load times on the wiki. This template was going to be changed anyway, so there was no point to their edit (except that they probably didn't know the problem it would cause). You won't need a DOS attack to shut down the wiki, only an uninformed or malicious editor doing repeated edits and saves to this template. --ZRoc (Talk) 17:21, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Nuu, don't take her admin rights away just yet. Take it away after we have finished updating the monster template. ~kotarou3 TALKCONTRIBS 08:23, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, a question that me and ladywinter have been arguing about: For the skills section in the template, do you want it to show Icons or Text. For the icons, I can add tooltip text, or even better, onmouseover text if the wiki supports javascript ~kotarou3 TALKCONTRIBS 05:44, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Stylesheets access?

Is it possible to grant me editing rights to the stylesheets? Alot of things could be added in that the wiki uses very frequently ~kotarou3 TALKCONTRIBS 22:16, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Upon thought... May I remain an admin for the sole purpose of banning vandals? x.x I seem to ping you here alot for them. I don't really want other admin duties, but I notice that my wiki hours don't always overlap with other ppl's so it may be easier on you guys if I'm all, like, ban hammering the stupid ones. Though to be honest I would really love to chat with you about what you consider vandalism and appropriate block time regarding specific levels of vandalism (ie. Advert spam versus replacing all text with "penis" versus all deletion) before like, the ban hammer duties become permanent/official. -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 08:19, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay so vandal policy as you stated looks like this?

3 day ban = one or two fake/bad/mildly offensive edits on one or two articles.

week ban = bad edits on multiple articles, inserting a lot of fake info into articles, blanking an article, deleting/changing another's comment on a talk page.

permanent ban = advertisement, very offensive language, continuation of whatever behavior initiated prior bans.

And for all bans there will be notices on their talk page as to why they're banned and for how long... hmm, is there a template for this or should I make one? -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 03:13, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes, there is a template for it. Now to find it >.< ~kotarou3 TALKCONTRIBS 06:55, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
There's Template:BannedUser, but it doesn't state the length of the ban or the reason, but you can easily add it if you wish. --Powder Rune 07:26, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
