Is that bad...? Infodude575 17:27, 1 December 2010 (PST)
This wiki exists to record all data for the mabinogi game. If a page is complete and without error, then editing it further is pointless. If you question the wording or logic of a page you can discuss it in a talk page. Tellos 17:33, 1 December 2010 (PST)

...why wouldn't guides have spoilers? That's why they're guides... And why else would there be a giant spoiler banner at the top of the page? --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 17:42, 1 December 2010 (PST)

Because Admins say so. Also, G1, G2, G3, G7, G9, G10, G11, and G12 have the banner, but theres no content that reveals the plot. Infodude575 16:44, 2 December 2010 (PST)
You know Ikkisuki is an admin right? Tellos 16:46, 2 December 2010 (PST)
Perhaps... then you might be a hypocrite. Remember the "incident" with the editing on G1 page? Infodude575 16:53, 2 December 2010 (PST)
I don't recall doing anything to the G1 page, also there is no hypocrasy. Perhaps you are suggesting I'm a liar? Blue link = page, red link = no page, Gold link = Admin user page. Tellos 17:45, 2 December 2010 (PST)
See here then. Your fellow Admins say its not allowed. Infodude575 19:25, 2 December 2010 (PST)
I agree with the no-content-spoilers rule, my main reason for using the wiki mainstream guide is because it just only tells you How, but not What and Why (the real spoilers), which i want to figure out myself. Addressing the storyline in the mainstream articles should be sparingly used, and only when it helps with describing the How.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 21:59, 2 December 2010 (PST)

In the case of [1], it's not a case of Capitalization. Partner List doesn't exist. It was a redirection to Partners List, plural. Like how Staff List redirects to Staves List.

Pyro - (Talk)12:42, 6 May 2012

I thought by Wikipedia standards the first letter of every word in every title page is supposed to be capitalized.

But I didn't realize "Partner List" didn't exist o-o

Infodude57513:03, 6 May 2012

Twas an accident/overlook...

Pyro - (Talk)13:10, 6 May 2012

Also, please stop linking to the category of a weapon type. The list page should be the dominant one with the information.

Pyro - (Talk)16:54, 30 May 2012

So, relink to List page, not Category page?

Infodude57517:05, 30 May 2012

Yup. Or you can just link to the redirection pages.

PD editing

Who was that comment about "try no to mess it up again" directed towards? I'm asking this because everytime you add to that page, it needs to be cleaned up even further.

Yinato12:01, 3 May 2012

Unfortunately it was to you, because:

Simply put, each equipment or skill is calculated individually, while being calculated simultaneously with the other equipment or skills. If the 20% from Dark Heavy Stander does not activate, there is still a chance for the Armor with 8% to activate. If the Armor does not activate, then there is still the 5% from the Shield's passive. Once it is activated, all checks will stop and the Passive Defense will be activated.

Disregarding the first sentence, does the whole thing sound right to you if its placed first?

Infodude57516:16, 3 May 2012

replace "Once -it- is activated" with "Once auto-defense activates", and it would o-o. This is what happens when too many people "contribute" to a page, and one person tries to string it all together :|

Yinato17:41, 3 May 2012

I don't think

If the 20% from Dark Heavy Stander does not activate, there is still a chance for the Armor with 8% to activate. If the Armor does not activate, then there is still the 5% from the Shield's passive. Once it is activated, all checks will stop and the Passive Defense will be activated.

fits in because it just comes out of nowhere...

Infodude57517:43, 3 May 2012

Notice how that was added after your edit? Mind you, a lot of what you added that previous edit was either incorrect or worded really weirdly too. I just didn't bother pointing it out since I was going to redo that page anyway.

Yinato19:13, 3 May 2012

Passive defense activation explanation

The simplest way to explain it would be that the percentages aren't cumulative, there's a chance for having anywhere from 0~n equipment with melee PD (for example) to trigger (you'd only need 1 to activate; multiple activations doesn't result in further reduction in damage) and that you can still get knocked down/back even if your PD kicks in (assuming it's only PD at work). As for the calculations, the equation is from a gr. 12 course, and it's just to calculate the overall probability of having PD activate if you have more than 1 source of PD (trans + shield, armor, reforged gauntlets). It's not really needed but is nice to know (like the damage calculation equation).

Yinato13:35, 29 April 2012

Infodude57518:43, 29 April 2012

Just WHAT exactly are you confused about >.>

Yinato18:45, 29 April 2012

If I have 2 pieces of eq with HS PD:

1. 10% from shield
2. 20% from armor

There's a 10% chance and a 20% chance that the PD will activate, but not a 30% chance.

If the 10% activates, then the effect of the 20% is nothing.

But if the 10% does not activate, you have another 20% chance from your armor that will activate.

Simple as it can get, thanks Kevin.

But I'm still confused on how 30% came up instead of 33% on the page.

Infodude57520:43, 29 April 2012

Wait...that's what you didn't get? That the PD activation didn't stack? >>

-coughs- well, for the 33: if you thought PDs were cumulative/stacked, then 20+8+5=33, but since they don't stack, you'd only have about a 30% probability of having a PD activate (insert equatiom from page here)

Yinato20:51, 29 April 2012

No I still don't get the thirty percent, sadly.

Infodude57520:54, 29 April 2012

33 rounded down. LOL.

XD I swear they do that with the repair rates in the game... ._.

Yinato21:17, 29 April 2012

The concept isn't hard, but you need to know a few key concepts and how to calculate odds and probability. Here's the equation in words anyway: Just going to use melee PD, but any of the 3 would do. I'll use the numbers from the original page: 20%, 8% and 5%

Probability of pinging while wearing 3 equips with PD= 1 - [ (1 - probability of trans melee PD working) x (1 - probability of armor PD working) x (1 - probability of shield PD working) ]

The (1-probability of ____ PD working) is the probability that the PD of ____ won't activate (trans, armor or shield in this case). You use that equation for every source of melee PD you have (you've got 3 in this case - trans, armor and shield). When you multiply those 3 values together, you get the probability that none of the PDs on the 3 items will activate. The final 1 - [things in these square brackets] will give you the probability of at least 1 of the PDs of those 3 items activating when you get hit.

Yinato21:16, 29 April 2012

1 - [ (1 - 20) x (1 - 8) x (1 - 5) ]

1 - [ (-19) x (-7) x (-4) ]

1 - (-532)

I did my math correctly, yes?

Infodude57522:05, 29 April 2012

Oh, you need to convert the percentages to decimals, so 20% would be 0.2, 5% would be 0.05, etc.

Yinato03:59, 30 April 2012

1 - [ (1 -.2) x (1 - .08) x (1 - .05) ]

1 - [ (.8) x (.92) x (.95) ]

1 - [.6992]

Infodude57509:00, 30 April 2012

That's correct. You just need to convert that to percent (30.08%)

I added a reward list to the Potion Love Event's Math Dungeon, and would you mind telling me why you removed it? It was perfectly fine. :/

Anemki23:19, 27 February 2012

We don't do the same for the other events, do we?

Those rewards are obtainable from the dungeon. If we have one in the dungeon and the event page, its redundant.

Infodude57523:28, 27 February 2012

Actually, in a way, we do. Like the Shoot the Sun event for example. There is an obtained item list there, too. And I guess it must not be that bad of a thing I added if it was re-added after you removed it. C:

Anemki23:31, 27 February 2012

Isn't that because it's the only reward(s) you can get from that event?

Well whatever...

Infodude57523:32, 27 February 2012

Why we can't use both Morrighan and Neamhain's Powers

Actually, according to the Falias Gatekeeper, the real reason we can't use both of the powers is because we have the incomplete Badhbh Cath. Meaning in order to use both Neamhain and Morrighan's skills we'd also need to posses Macha's skills. Not because the player is an "incomplete god", unless that's what that's referring to.

Pyro - (Talk)18:29, 5 January 2012

He told me "incomplete god" was the case, too.

Infodude57518:31, 5 January 2012

Fomor Weapons

In response to this edit, Fomorians are often referred to as "Demons" in KR, however that term is never used within the game in NA. This wouldn't be the first time NA made a mistranslation on their website... (Or in the game but that's another story...) I don't think it is such a huge coincidence that it deserves to be mentioned. If anything this will just make it a term in the public and cause further confusion.

Pyro - (Talk)14:52, 26 December 2011

I thought Fomors were mainly composed of Demons and the rest are Demi-Humans or Humans. I'm also aware of the term, although I recall NA calling them "monsters" instead.

Coincidence... Take it or leave it, I don't want to carry such burden.

Infodude57500:50, 27 December 2011

Shylock may be a commoner, but that is neither a job nor an occupation. It is his social class based on his birth. His job is what he does to make a living. Most of the NPCs in the game are commoners because there were not born into the aristocracy.

TheFarix13:06, 26 November 2011

Paladin book page 1 and 2 misspelled redundant as "redudntant"...I'm still laughing about that...

Anyways, isn't there a particular condition those two pages are needed? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere if G2 was skipped, one has to collect all seven pages, while if G2 was fully completed those two pages are already filled in. And besides which, I'm pretty sure Nexon wouldn't have implemented that without a reason to activate the quests.

Either way, I don't think they should've been removed.

AKAAkira12:52, 11 November 2011

I believe that you can give the book back to price and get it back from price, however 2 pages would be missing...I dunno I'm going on a limb here...then again I do have Champion who does not have passive but thanks to nexon, I can't get on can't confirm anything right now :x

LexisMikaya13:39, 11 November 2011

You can't skip G2 though, so...

Since there's really no possible known way to obtain Pages 1 and 2, it really doesn't belong...

Infodude57513:42, 11 November 2011

Oh. Oh. That kinda a little okay, really makes sense. Sorry 'bout the misinformation.

Wouldn't the material you removed be called "ways to obtain Pages 1 and 2", though? So where did that info come from, then?

AKAAkira20:36, 11 November 2011

How the hell am I supposed to know about where that came from? It was there for years.

Infodude57520:38, 11 November 2011

Er, I didn't mean that quite literally...I probably phrased that badly. What I'm trying to say is a "Would there be a source if there wasn't a grain of truth?" kinda thing.

Someone uploaded that information, and I do know for sure the quests for page one and two are unlockable through some kind of condition. I once talked to Craig with the Paladin Book keyword, and I remember him telling me he can give me the quest to get page two, but he doesnt, and says something along the lines of "But don't you already have page two...?" so the quests themselves definitely exist.

So again, I don't think Nexon would've implemented them without a reason to activate the quests.

AKAAkira20:44, 11 November 2011

I think it's something that occured in a foreign server...

But that's my guess.

Infodude57521:10, 11 November 2011

At some point in Korea you were able to skip Generation 2. However that was removed shortly after. I believe another server had that as an event but I'm not sure.

Pyro - (Talk)22:01, 11 November 2011

Bandit Badges

What quest uses bandit badges? I only see quests that use Belvast Seals.

Pyro - (Talk)16:54, 10 November 2011

Some of them ask you to kill Bandits, and require "proof" from them.
The quest offers Enchant Scrolls, and there are three of them.

This is what I heard from one of the guides on the M-World Forum though...

Infodude57517:01, 10 November 2011

Are you sure they didn't mean just fight bandits for badges then turn them in like normal and use the ducats earned to buy enchants?

Pyro - (Talk)17:10, 10 November 2011

Well neither the Magma nor Ambush quest scrolls are for sale in any store I've seen so they're either limited time or were discluded in G15S1. (Like Quest Item inv, Enhancements [which other servers still have], etc.)

Pyro - (Talk)18:34, 10 November 2011

Are you sure? I see them in the quest tab...

Infodude57518:37, 10 November 2011

Really? I only see instruments...

Pyro - (Talk)18:48, 10 November 2011

First row, columns three through seven.

Infodude57518:50, 10 November 2011

O .o I must be blind. For some reason I remember there being more instruments than that as well.

Pyro - (Talk)18:59, 10 November 2011

I'd say your blind. Instruments would be in first row, first and second columns as well as the eight through twelves, and second row, first through third columns.

Infodude57519:06, 10 November 2011

Where does it say he's Carasek's twin? (Ignoring all laziness of not making new character portraits and appearance.)

Pyro - (Talk)22:08, 8 November 2011

Both NPCs have the exact same portrait, so they must be twins.

He didn't say it though... Either that or I didn't look hard enough.

Infodude57522:19, 8 November 2011

Are their keyword responses and etc identical as well? I'm pretty sure this is just a copy-paste-rename, a place holder.

Pyro - (Talk)22:22, 8 November 2011

No, they're not. Karis pretty much says stuff about his bro.

Infodude57522:24, 8 November 2011

Bassanio's Equipment

I don't think it's justifiable to give the impression his hurricane cylinder is always with him just because players see him use it for two occasions. Like I put in Portia's edit comment thing, I'm under the impression that section's to list the equipment that an NPC has most commonly. For example, you won't list "Two-Handed Sword" in Fleta's equipments if there happens to be one or two missions where she uses it, no? (And that was a random example.)

Which Shadow Mission does Bassanio use the Hurricane Cylinder in? I haven't gotten too far so I don't know yet.

While I'm here, I may as well also advise you that I've found that when the meaning is clear, people don't like putting in more bytes than necessary. For example, your edits to Portia's equipments, expanding SM to Shadow Missions when it's already clear from a fairly close example that it's a Shadow Mission. This also applies to internal links; such as, if Bassanio appears every sentence, it's not necessary to link them all.

And also while I'm here - those trivia bits you're putting up, are they supposed to be from the original The Merchant of Venice? If so, then it might be more wise to put in "In the original story of The Merchant of Venice...", as opposed to "In the original scenario for (Insert Quest Here), as I think the latter gives the impression that the quests' proceeding changed during localization. And I think it was also you who added all that stuff about the riddle of the Gold, Silver, and Lead Boxes; have you actually read the original The Merchant of Venice? Wikipedia's synopsis differs from what was added on the respective pages.

AKAAkira21:39, 2 November 2011

He has a Hurricane Cylinder in the semi-RP dungeon in Alby and he also has it when your breaking Antonio out of Belvast prison. Also, it's better than being inaccurate. We aren't concerned about speed in loading, we are concerned about accuracy and informing. There are some measures taken for those who load slowly (separating the OX questions and commerce list, etc), but removing information or using street speak is not an option.

Pyro - (Talk)21:46, 2 November 2011

Escape from Belvast. Bassanio shoots one of the Guardsmen with Water Cannon.

I'm trying to avoid linking them all, but I only link once per section, ex. Description, Trivia would have one link. People sometimes skip reading sections.

I have a copy of one of the MoV books. I'd rather put "original scenario" because this story doesn't have acts, and people would be confused on the timeline of when said part occured.

Infodude57521:50, 2 November 2011

Anytime you encounter her character model ingame, it says Goddess Neamhain, not Neamhain.

Pyro - (Talk)13:58, 27 October 2011

Infodude57516:25, 27 October 2011

Vindictus is the prequel of this game, so I feel that it should belong. Your kind of like saying that the Irish Mythology, which Mabinogi: Fantasy Life was based on, should not belong, yet there is a comparison page.

Vindictus and Mabinogi are different games. End.

Tellos22:55, 4 March 2011

I do still feel a connection between Vindictus and Mabinogi: Fantasy Life. Most of the things explained in the past seem relevant to what occurs now.

For instance, Dragons. How do we Humans obtain the Fire and Thunder Dragons? In the text, there were Humans labeled as "Dragon Riders".

The description of the Guardian Spider exactly matches the story behind the similar Giant White Spider in Vindictus.

Infodude57519:46, 12 March 2011

We don't need to know the similarities and differences between Mabinogi and Vindictus in order to play either. Else, we may as well reference everything else from every other game and real life.

I'm supposed to be prepared for aggression, right? That's probably what happened to the other contributors.

Infodude57520:28, 12 March 2011

user like sheifer was clearly violation and provocation.

This is just a conflict of opinion.

Fallenone20:37, 12 March 2011

Well, the view from Vindictus seems relevant, but that is probably from my opinion...

But its no doubt the Guardian Spider was based on Vindictus's story. And Dragons were initially tamed back then.

Also, it has suddenly occured to me that Vindictus's "Prophecy" was probably made up by Morrighan...

Infodude57520:15, 12 March 2011

It is. Still, different world, different story.

may i ask where you got the dragon part from? only lvl 30 in vindictus so i dont known much ;;

Fallenone20:17, 12 March 2011

Somewhere in Episode 5, Marrec goes to Rocheste to deliver this letter. He then sees Keaghan riding a Dragon.

Also, why the hell would Marrec be lying?

Infodude57520:25, 12 March 2011

yeah i saw the vid showing Keaghan riding a dragon on the trailer for the episode where you go to Rocheste.

Fallenone20:38, 12 March 2011

The reason your edits are criticized is because the majority:

1) Don't have to do with mabinogi (trivia sections).

2) Get reverted for being incorrect.

3) Are extremely wordy and make pages confusing.

4) Are not needed and seem to be made just to spin the lines around

5) Have 5th grade level grammar.

6) Contain speculation and not fact.

7) Contain an invalid explanation for an occurrence.

We've had to patrol your edits because they are atrocious and you make so many of them that it becomes a nuisance. While its true we get criticized for cracking down on a lot of people, its because we have standards for this wiki and people who refuse to meet those standards quickly have their edits removed.

Tellos06:15, 14 March 2011

I understand the criticism, but, I don't think its that hard to fix them.

But truthfully, undoing it entirely is not the right way to go. Sure, some of the information is hard to understand, but, part of it is relevant.

Also, you could just tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it.

Infodude57512:30, 14 March 2011

we should not need to know anything about Vindictus to understand anything on this wiki. Anyways, we already tried telling you a long time what not to do, and you didn't get it (perhaps you just don't understand). I'm irritated because this is getting way to similar to the Shadowboy132/DarkBlade132 incident.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS18:25, 14 March 2011

I don't think anyone one said "no Vindictus Trivia" either directed to me or in the policy, until now. At least I'm trying to do something, rather than sitting around and doing nothing. You should be glad that someone is trying to positive work around rather than performing negative things.

Infodude57519:24, 14 March 2011

Is it really positive if your trivias have been repeatedly undone, yet you insist on continuing with them? :\

κєνıи тαıĸ«)19:32, 14 March 2011

Don't bring that back up please.

But, what if (I said "if") the information was truly relevant.
Earlier, Tellos undid my edits on the Shadow Spirit page, claiming that calling the shadows "spirits" (which is what they were stated in-game) was "pointless". Someone else undid it because the information was accurate.

Btw, is there anything wrong with adding the links and capitalizing the first letter of a main word, like Protection?

Infodude57520:07, 14 March 2011

I'm the other user you're talking about there.

You did go through the article and change 'shadow/s' to 'spirit/s' where applicable, that was good. However, with that same edit you snuck in some other changes that weren't really necessary, most prominently *Shadow Spirit is Cichol's skill, and as such can be used regardless of which Goddess the player chooses. That line in particular I had to revert when I was undoing Tellos' undo.. @_@

This isn't the TVTropes Wiki; splitting one word into multiple links confuses the reader and breaks the flow of the page. In addition, the Shadow Spirit page doesn't even have a spoiler tag; naming the goddesses whose powers you can use on the page is potentially a bad idea.

The only other thing to say is, multiple consecutive edits that achieve different purposes are better than a single edit that changes a ton of stuff. I do this too, and I'm working on it, but if you're going to do something like fix the use of the word "shadow", do that, but make unrelated changes in separate edits, to keep the edit summaries relevant and make it easier for everybody who does quality control.

Domirade [Tarlach]07:11, 15 March 2011

No one, not even the policy (at least not from what I saw), said I could split a word into two links. And I don't see how naming Morrighan and Neamhain on that page is a "spoiler".

Anyway this argument is getting a little too long...

Infodude57510:59, 15 March 2011

I'm not an authority figure telling you you're breaking the rules. I'm a user telling another user that while it's not explicitly said you can't do that, it's (IMO) bad practice and a horrible stylistic decision.

Re: spoilers, yeah I guess it's not particularly cared about at least in that section, I was going to say someone who hasn't beaten G10 wouldn't know things, but if they're in that part of the wiki they're there to learn them I guess. Maybe most of the demi pages need spoiler warnings at the top...

Domirade [Tarlach]17:00, 15 March 2011

I'm specifically talking about the trivias. No attention to whatever you guys may be arguing about.

κєνıи тαıĸ«)17:03, 15 March 2011

mabinogi and vindictus is different game, different world.

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Shall we close this discussion now?

Fallenonesigniture.PNG17:10, 15 March 2011

I agree that we should stop. Gosh this must be one of the longest arguments in history.

But I agree with Pyro though, should we make a page involving relations between Mabinogi: Fantasy Life and Vindictus? I mean, a similar page exists between the Irish Mythology...

Infodude57517:33, 15 March 2011

it's like putting detail about bagel in the triva for croissant page because they are both made of flours.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG17:45, 15 March 2011

...? I'm sorry, but I don't understand.

Infodude57517:46, 15 March 2011

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Bagel and Croissant are both made with flours but putting triva about bagel in croissant page doesn't make sense.

maybe my comparison is poor.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG17:46, 15 March 2011

Well... They do have a lot of stuff related, right?

Infodude57517:58, 15 March 2011

Let me put it another way: would you write a comparative thesis on the similarities between dishwashers and microwaves just because they're both cuboid, have a side that opens on a hinge, and plug into your wall outlet?

Domirade [Tarlach]20:04, 15 March 2011

A human and a mushroom are both comprised of cells, so why aren't humans defined in mushroom's terms?

Tellos07:23, 16 March 2011

minor contributions like spelling and linking do not outweigh your content edits.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS22:15, 14 March 2011

just make sure if the piece of information is really needed. some of your edit is rather restating and/or not that much important. Also, your opinion shouldn't be on the page, even on triva, unless it is obvious. For example, in Cichol's page, after his death, someone wrote:

"He will mostly likey to reborn, since what is the story without main antagonist?" and windmill introduction where someone said windmill is the best skill(i personally think its worst skill. make the game boring)

we dont need info like that.

another thing is that your sentence is usually subjective and comparative.

still, most of your contribution is greatly appreciated and useful.

Fallenone13:33, 14 March 2011

I don't really want to get involved, but here is my opinion on the Mabinogi-Vindictus conflict: Perhaps we can make Vindictus its own page saying it is a spinoff and also including the trivia and storyline connections on that page. That, to me, seems to settle both parties' needs. Other wikis also use this idea.

06:37, 14 March 2011

Great idea, check the Legatus page, and talking to it in the game, direct relation between Mabi and Vindictus.

Jasott01:03, 7 July 2011

Right now, I left the data on my Info Page.

Infodude57501:12, 7 July 2011

Not to sound offensive, but that data seems to be a little to casual. Also, Smash is considered more powerful than a normal attack here as well, it seems irrelevant to mention that.

Pyro - (Talk)01:33, 7 July 2011

Infodude57501:43, 7 July 2011

By that I mean your way of writing.

They fought for us,

First off, you should say Humanity, not necessarily "us". Avoid words such as "I", "we", "me", etc. Keep yourself out of it. Treat the reader as somebody neutral, uninvolved.

Kobolds are also infantry but also possess "lesser" technology,

That's opinionary Avoid opinions as well.

Also, try not to say words such as "can't", "don't", "I'll". Separate them to cannot, do not, I will. (Well, as I said, avoid "I"s. =P)

The "Ogre" Titan is actually a Cyclops but it is not labeled as one.

It has one eye, and it's called an Ogre Titan, that does not necessarily make it a Cyclops. Not everything large with one eye is considered a cyclops.

You may not believe it, but Fomorians were the ones who invented beer!

Don't speak directly to the reader. This is fine if your using it as your user page, but shouldn't be considered data.

Pyro - (Talk)01:53, 7 July 2011

Hehe... Well, this is MY page, so I can make adjustments as needed. I don't think there's a rule for opinionated, informal words on User Pages. If someone does eventually make an actual page, then they can reword it. Still, its my page.

As for the Kobold part, they clearly use "old-age" tools like slingshots and blowguns (or as they call it, windguns). In the case of the Gremlins, however, they use "modernized-age" gear such as machines, including flamethrowers.

Infodude57502:10, 7 July 2011

I never said this wasn't allowed in user pages, I use it myself. My point was, it requires some work before it should be used to make a page.

Pyro - (Talk)02:25, 7 July 2011

oh yeah, infodude, sorry that i forgot your question ^^;;

here you go:

which means:

We Mabinogi Hero have shares same base (that is, ulster and mythological cycle of mabinogion) but different age. Many people think that Mabinogi Hero is the past, but please think that this is the different world in different dimension

still i like your user page ^^

it is very interesting

Alchemy Crystal Stackability in G14S4 Subseason

I was under the impression Stone Golems stacked to 50 whereas other Golems stacked to 100. And non-Summon Golem crystals were not affected. Are you sure all Golems stack to 50 and everything else stacks to 100?

Pyro - (Talk)23:37, 6 July 2011

I didn't write that...
That wouldn't really make sense if only Stone Golems stacked to 50 while Forest, Sulfur, and Snow stacked to 100. I mean, basic-leveled things have more advantages while higher-leveled things go less and less.
But, I was under the impression of the rest of the Alchemy Crystals: Water, Wind, Fire, Clay, Cloud, etc...

Infodude57500:46, 7 July 2011

Writing style.

You should try writing in an encyclopedic manner. This means:

Nothing should be subjective or comparative unless completely necessary (write a page like the audience has no emotion and imply nothing).

Information should be conveyed in the fewest and simplest possible terms without losing any information or creating ambiguity.

Do not use bold and italics unless they are indicating something other than tone.

Group like information.

Adjectives should not be used except in indisputable cases (the usefulness or relative power of a skill is typically a matter of opinion).

Excessive backlinking should be avoided, users shouldn't have to go to 3 different pages to understand a single page. While its fine to turn skill names or statuses or items into links, avoid comparing one skill or item to another skill or item. An exception to this would be where a skill or item has an identical or nearly identical function to another.

Tellos08:25, 28 December 2010

Don't be subjective

We appreciate your grammar and spelling edits, but please do not add subjectivity or meaning if the tone was intended to be neutral. Some details were not meant to justified, and that's the way they are. Please maintain a neutral point of view at all times when editing specific in-game mechanics.

Here are some examples of unwanted (diff) edits from your contribs:

  • Separate Glas Ghaibhleann from it's Crag Cows as they can provide more trouble with their 100% wound rates. <-what? trouble has a negative connotation and is not necessary for such information. Crags don't give me any more trouble. I eat them like caek.
  • In the Irish Mythology, Glas Ghaibhleann is a magical cow that would provide endless milk as it would never grow tired. //this is less than "trivia" and belongs in the mythology article, because it will get the reader to try to relate in-game story to this unrelated piece of info, wasting their time!
  • Giants can mount these despite their size <- are you calling giants fat?! Anyways, this is not a neutral tone. Technically, mabinogi is not real life. Don't try to justify by size or weight because anything can mount on a mount if the server allows it. It's yes or no only here.
    • However, Giants could only mount them after G12 was implemented. <-bold adverb=emphasis, we do not want emphasis here, it doesn't do anything to help people in-game.
    • Nao is only seen by the person who uses it, however. <-do not put "however" at the end when you have bullet points, it's not a paragraph so it's redundant.
Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS01:27, 19 December 2010

Couldn't you just edit them to make them more "appropriate"?

Infodude57502:23, 19 December 2010

Please understand that it's frustrating to correct numerous edits in which each requires so much thinking to correct. The fact that you also correct spelling and grammar in-between, and stating opinions like fact makes it difficult to to just revert your edits. The true-but-distorted statements are time consuming to correct, and most of us don't have time to look after all the edits while working on other parts of the wiki or playing Mabinogi.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS12:24, 19 December 2010

You make so many edits and patrolling every single one of them will frankly be a pain.

Angevon (Talk)07:47, 19 December 2010

I find that insulting, and I feel offended thank you very much.

Infodude57511:39, 19 December 2010

If you're not going to do this, then don't edit at all, thank you very much. You're not the first person that's done this. Also, no one cares if you're offended. It doesn't excuse you for anything, so don't think you'll be able to get away with anything.

kaede-kit11:44, 19 December 2010

Alright. If that is how the policy goes, then I will take it and understand it. I shall try to watch my edits, but can't guarantee it'll be proper.

Infodude57515:17, 19 December 2010

Thanks for being understanding.
