Sometimes I get the feeling that you make edits for the sake of editing. Or maybe I'm just imagining things. Tellos 14:23, 28 November 2010 (PST)

Is that bad...? Infodude575 17:27, 1 December 2010 (PST)
This wiki exists to record all data for the mabinogi game. If a page is complete and without error, then editing it further is pointless. If you question the wording or logic of a page you can discuss it in a talk page. Tellos 17:33, 1 December 2010 (PST)

...why wouldn't guides have spoilers? That's why they're guides... And why else would there be a giant spoiler banner at the top of the page? --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 17:42, 1 December 2010 (PST)

Because Admins say so. Also, G1, G2, G3, G7, G9, G10, G11, and G12 have the banner, but theres no content that reveals the plot. Infodude575 16:44, 2 December 2010 (PST)
You know Ikkisuki is an admin right? Tellos 16:46, 2 December 2010 (PST)
Perhaps... then you might be a hypocrite. Remember the "incident" with the editing on G1 page? Infodude575 16:53, 2 December 2010 (PST)
I don't recall doing anything to the G1 page, also there is no hypocrasy. Perhaps you are suggesting I'm a liar? Blue link = page, red link = no page, Gold link = Admin user page. Tellos 17:45, 2 December 2010 (PST)
See here then. Your fellow Admins say its not allowed. Infodude575 19:25, 2 December 2010 (PST)
I agree with the no-content-spoilers rule, my main reason for using the wiki mainstream guide is because it just only tells you How, but not What and Why (the real spoilers), which i want to figure out myself. Addressing the storyline in the mainstream articles should be sparingly used, and only when it helps with describing the How.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 21:59, 2 December 2010 (PST)

Old Tutorial Quests

Just because people no longer get the old quests doesn't mean they don't already have them, so don't remove them. It'd be better to add a note that indicates that they're no longer obtainable if you don't already have it.

Pyro - (Talk)22:17, 25 February 2013

Eeh. Not really a point in keeping obsolete, out-of-date information, though. Tends to mislead people to think it's still possible. Obsolete, out of date information is what the history is for.

What if we make an archived page for the old tutorial quest chains? Since people who still had it can still do it. And explicitly say that you can't get this chain again.

Pyro - (Talk)22:22, 25 February 2013

Yes, old tutorials and quests should be archived. Except no one, apparently, is willing to do the work.

Mari Transformation

You've tried using it and attacking enemies?

It shouldn't have ranged attack enabled..

Can you add in the templates for all the Demonic weapons? I'm new to wiki editing and cannot for the life of me figure how to do them correctly.

Maenad (talk)23:59, 28 November 2012

Unfortunately you're going to need to ask someone else, like User:Ikkisuki, because I'm not familiar with templates and he warned us not to mess with them.

Infodude575 (talk)00:01, 29 November 2012

Mmkai.

Maenad (talk)00:02, 29 November 2012

Act 6 Crisis

The idea of writing articles is to inform those who do not know. If you like the habit of assuming for every player to know already lets not write an article since its already obvious of what is expected.

Ryuuri (talk)12:40, 28 October 2012

I tested with and without Control Marionette and with and without Act 9. I didn't test thoroughly, though. I only made very quick and broad observations.

When the skill is used on a target that is about to strike the user will cause the target to deliver their assault. It is better to advise any user of the skill to not do so.

Ryuuri (talk)11:23, 27 October 2012

Well, if it doesn't inflict stun before the pull, I think anyone can get the gist that it's best not to do it at a close range.

Infodude575 (talk)11:28, 27 October 2012

I tested it on both near and far. The target will execute their melee combo if they are pulled towards the user.

Ryuuri (talk)11:42, 27 October 2012

On another note, when the target uses smash on the user their will be a glitch that will cause the user to look as if the player was assaulted by smash however, the skill was not at all fully executed. This glitch happens a lot.

Ryuuri (talk)11:45, 27 October 2012

Targets immediately resorting to normal attacks after being attacked applies to everything, not just Wire Pull.

Infodude575 (talk)11:48, 27 October 2012

You misunderstood.

When using Wire Pull on a target that is going to use, a melee combo. The skill will be executed on the user; the attack instead of being cancelled - wire pull will actually cause the melee to be used on the user.

Ryuuri (talk)12:43, 27 October 2012

Climactic Crash

Have you actually seen a marionette use climactic crash while under invigorating encore? Considering that it requires the player to charge the skill, it's highly doubtful that it can use the skill on its own, hence why I did not include it.

Nevermind. Found my answer. > >

I don't even have it, but it probably does.

Infodude575 (talk)21:07, 26 October 2012

Why'd you remove the G1 and G3 final dungeon nerfs from the list? Did that change not enter the official server according to your sources?

Pyro - (Talk)23:11, 27 September 2012

Mabidata, Soluna took it out, so I'm assuming it didn't go through or something.

Infodude575 (talk)01:31, 28 September 2012

Thanks. I confronted Solar about this and he had this to say.

Pyro - (Talk)02:15, 29 September 2012

Just curious, did Solar say anything else that he didn't add in the notes?

Infodude575 (talk)11:06, 29 September 2012

He implied the existence of other things but not exactly what. I know for a fact Guild Battle was made a bit harder, aside from a better title, but he didn't write about that. You can try going to this Japanese blog if you understand, but I'm afraid I'm a novice.

Pyro - (Talk)12:48, 29 September 2012

Wine Making

Did you base this on this, which was done the day before?

Pyro - (Talk)15:02, 29 August 2012

Pretty much, why?

Infodude575 (talk)15:06, 29 August 2012

Then you need to put a reference, like on the pet pages and the Japanese Wiki.

Pyro - (Talk)15:14, 29 August 2012

I don't recall referencing guides... But if you say so. O-o

Infodude575 (talk)15:21, 29 August 2012

I don't see how guides are any different than wikis, wikis are guides after all.

Pyro - (Talk)15:22, 29 August 2012

I guess that's true...

Infodude575 (talk)15:24, 29 August 2012

it's true, I helped out a friend's friend and she disconnected during the cutscene but she still got the reward and we didn't have to redo. She said it also happened to her friend.

Alive (talk)18:55, 26 August 2012

You don't write it in all caps though.

Infodude575 (talk)19:00, 26 August 2012

Oh. can you fix it to wiki format please then :(

Alive (talk)19:21, 26 August 2012

was it frm yesterday?

& you mean the quest, right? not the item.

Ofc I mean the quest. And no, it was today.

Infodude57518:17, 17 August 2012

What time? It seems at 12pm PDT today was when Yvona stopped giving out the Lyre & AP rewards according to a couple of reports.

Angevon (Talk)18:51, 17 August 2012

I logged in at around 11:00 AM PST and the quest was present in my log.

Infodude57518:53, 17 August 2012

well, I logged in at 3pm, so that might be why. So event is over?

How am I supposed to know...

Infodude575 (talk)20:28, 17 August 2012

No longer on the event marquee. It was yesterday.

*shrug* could be dat glitch..

Infodude575 (talk)20:39, 17 August 2012

At 12:00PDT. It scrolled over the top "the bard destiny event is now ending"

It has ended.

Aubog007 (talk)20:59, 17 August 2012

Thanks for going through my revisions on the Partner Special Abilities/Features section.

There are just some things you don't spot during self-proofread. I knew I forgot to take out an edit note somewhere...

Anyway, just wanted to say that since you can't really do so in the edit summaries.

Vance02:54, 17 August 2012

Serial Commas

Always use Serial Commas after the last item before the "and" if there are three items in the series.

Pyro - (Talk)11:42, 6 July 2012

Bump.

Pyro - (Talk)12:42, 28 July 2012

Ehh?

Infodude57512:59, 28 July 2012

Example:

Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomatoes.

not

Bacon, Lettuce and Tomatoes.
Pyro - (Talk)13:07, 28 July 2012

Correct:

  • There is mention of Partholons, Tuatha de Dananns, and Tir Bolg.

Incorrect:

  • There is mention of Partholons, Tuatha de Dananns and Tir Bolg.

edit: I like mine better. :l

--Aramet (Talk)13:08, 28 July 2012

Err when again did I miss the comma?

Infodude57513:08, 28 July 2012

There's been a few incidents, but the one that reminded me recently was this.

Pyro - (Talk)13:11, 28 July 2012

Bleh, why am I so used to commaless? QQ

Infodude57513:19, 28 July 2012

How 2:

Using Aramet's Example:

  • There is mention of (Partholons), (Tuatha de Dananns), and (Tir Bolg).
  • There is mention of (Partholons), (Tuatha de Dananns and Tir Bolg).

Parenthesis represent grouping. Although if you were to group the 2nd one, you would need another "and" after the 1st comma. Otherwise, it currently refers to the Partholons, "Tuatha de Dananns" and "Tir Bolg" (implying these two are Partholons).

ithinkthat'sright.

I still am not familiar with the templates enough to add the actual training for each skill.

Aubog00720:15, 27 July 2012

All I did was copypaste from one of the other G17S1 skills and strip the summary, details, and skill icon.

Infodude57520:19, 27 July 2012

Well last time i copy and pasted something, i messed up Respite real good.

Aubog00721:34, 27 July 2012

Real good or real bad? :P

Infodude57521:45, 27 July 2012

well really good in a bad way!

Aubog00701:35, 28 July 2012

Human Smash Glitch

I'm afraid you misread. The glitch isn't that the humans do more damage than they should, its that it still shows that they do 500% damage when it should say 550%.

Pyro - (Talk)13:51, 21 July 2012

Is that so? I think you should ask User:Radionoise about it since he was the one who made the edit.

Infodude57513:55, 21 July 2012

That's no question, it's a fact...

Pyro - (Talk)14:24, 21 July 2012

It's a bug, Pyro. Humans are meant to do 500% damage, they abnormally have 550% damage despite being intended to have 500%.

Please do proper research before undoing the changes I made, here are actual sources: http://mabidata.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1207&start=50 http://puu.sh/LA4D

I can also provide the skillleveldescription.xml of the current Mabinogi client in KR that indicates that the 550% bug has been fixed back to 500% and the official announcement in the mabinogi.com page stating that 550% damage is an abnormal bug and that humans are meant to do 500% damage.

Please revert Smash wiki to the correct information.

Dead Commerce Mounts

How the hell does it go unconscious? Let a monster hit it around a lot?

Can't find the video right now but there was a foreign video on Mabidata showing what happens when you let Spiders beat up your Elephant... (They don't even have a dead animation so they're just standing up dead.) But no, there is no way to accidentally have your Commerce Mount killed unless you're REALLY unlucky. That was moreso meant to fill up peoples' curiosity so they don't waste time trying it themselves.

Pyro - (Talk)11:49, 15 July 2012

Don't specifically say Partners are Human-only, we don't know that. They may release inhuman partners in the future.

Pyro - (Talk)23:54, 6 July 2012

But for now they're human-only, yes?

Infodude57523:57, 6 July 2012

Yes, but that doesn't mean we should say that they can only be Human. That will make people jump to conclusions. We can explain but it needs the right wording and seems unnecessary in my opinion.

Pyro - (Talk)23:58, 6 July 2012

...but they can only be made humans. that's like saying, don't make bows "human and elf only" they might add giants.

Touche, but this far more likely than that and we know for a fact that there are more partners than just Maids and Butlers.

Pyro - (Talk)00:05, 7 July 2012

Displacement Lag

is essential a teleport spike in movement.

When you should be going from point A to point B, you somehow don't end up at point B, but rather Point B'. After barely moving you eventually get to point B.

It's like how people do a normal attack at a far range, then suddenly you get knocked forward, or very far back than the normal knockback range.

S•A•R•I•A19:54, 5 July 2012

Hidden Content

In response to this, its better to use the template. Also, the thing you reverted to used an extra <div> and </div> tag that was there for no reason.

Pyro - (Talk)00:00, 5 July 2012

Edits regarding mythril mine/mythril armor (g16s2)

I'm curious where you got the information for the Elf portions of G2 from, since most of the information you added in that section was completely off.

Yinato14:35, 1 July 2012

I heard from a Giant about this and that, so I assumed it was the same for Elves.

The NPCs for Humans and Giants were both Blacksmiths, so I assumed Meles. I totally forgot about Atrata though.

Infodude57517:05, 1 July 2012

Just make sure that you know for certain next time rather than working on assumptions. >_>

Yinato17:11, 1 July 2012

Btw, were there any other assumptions that you added to the Elf portion of G2?

Yinato18:47, 1 July 2012

That was it.
