Money Making

Hey there. I have a character who's a pure tailor (/weaver/production mastery etc.) and I'm finding it hard to gain any profit from this skill other than doing the part-time jobs around Dunbarton and Tir Chonaill. Does anyone have any tips to rectify my money issues? Other than dungeoning?

I see a lot of people wearing Light Leather Mail, if you're a good enough tailor then what your making should be better than shop bought, so it should sell alright. I wouldn't expect huge profits from it though since most people want Heavy Armor for the Damage shields or Clothing for Style+Damage Shield+2 Accessory slots.
But honestly, this is a question better asked in the M-World forums than on the wiki since any information concerning player selling becomes outdated so quickly that it's not worth including here--Jacobpaige 06:27, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
I see... Well, I'm a bit far off from Light Leather Mail, although, collecting the materials for it doesn't seem like too much of a hassle. I suppose that selling my wares to other players rather than NPCs would help a bit, so it would probably be best to start saving up for one of those shop-things. Anyways, thanks for the help, and I'll try the forums next time.
I'm not a tailor or anything, but there are some Pretty good/rare items that can only be made via Tailoring (or Synthesis >_> ) and they can sell for pretty high :o --Marthian 05:39, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Meaning?

"First item you craft with Tailoring may take more materials than all subsequent items." Can someone explain what this means more clearly? ---Angevon 05:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I read that too and honestly I have no idea. Maybe the person who put that in was referring to the low success rate you have at Novice rank even for rank F items? In which case I think that since it's really based on a bit of luck it should be removed.--Qaccy 23:34, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Item Grades

Where are the tailoring and blacksmithing grades for body type items? I believe its
X: +2 def +2 prot +5 dura +1 special attribute
S: +1 def +2 prot +5 dura +1 special
A+: +2 prot, +5 dura, +1 special
A: +2 prot +5 dura
B+: +2 prot +4 dura
B: +1 prot +4 dura.
After that I'm not sure. Tellos 01:46, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

"finished production of clothes"

for all the levels that require you to finish the production of clothes, does this mean only regular clothing works or can hats, gloves, shoes, etc still count towards this? otherwise it seems like its limiting you pretty harshly to about half of the patterns for training Vorthod (talk) 20:54, 11 February 2013 (PST)

I'm quite sure all articles of clothing count. I don't recall definitely, but I'm pretty sure,

well if that is the case, this is looking like a much easier skill than it did a second ago, thanks

Item Grades

I know this was discussed up above but i couldn't find a reply link to ask my question on it. So how do i get the S and X item grades? i have gotten the A item grade which is pretty handy on the light armor which i made for another but i kinda want the S and X item grades as they look strong especially with the +1 special on them.

You have to have a high enough rank and do the minigame very, very precisely.

any advice on how?

Yumri (talk)23:03, 9 September 2012

Uhm... Can't really give advice on a pretty straightforward minigame.

so does the remianing time matter or just how precise it is to the center of the square and the middle of the X ?

character name attached

In tailoring is it possible to have you character's name attached to what you make like in blacksmithing?

Yumri (talk)22:52, 9 September 2012

at what rank as i am already rank 8 and it isn't happening yet

Yumri (talk)23:03, 9 September 2012

It also requires a high grade, like blacksmithing. It's not based on rank, rather grade of the equipment.

Magical Clothing

With magical Clothing will it still get the +1 protection, +2 dura and all of that stuff which you get from being a very good tailor in mabi or will it always come out with the base stats?

Yumri00:24, 14 April 2011

Yes it will get the Added tailoring bonuses.
