It is a great advice. If one were in a dire situation or stuck in a corner with no other options, I as a the player would rather move away than have the puppet move instead. It is best to put this notion and not leave it out of the details.

Holding down the Shift-key will enable the player/puppeteer to move instead of the marionette/puppet they are in control of. The puppeteer can then either pick-up drops manually while doing so or move away from danger. The notion of having the marionette/puppet being able to pick-up drops is also not mentioned; this is an important detail and function especially when the player is far from the target-object. There is no mention of the marionette disconnecting if the player were to aim at a switch or chest or any sort of item while the marionette is being manipulated.

Many other things have not been mentioned in other areas as well: a player can Transform into a Paladin, Dark Knight or their Beast forms even while any 'Act' skills are active. Players can also transform while any of the 'Actions' are still activated or preloaded prior the transformation (i.e.: Jam session).

Further more the player can also distance themselves correctly while holding the Shift-key, either to get closer to their puppet or to move away from trouble.

I don't know why you posted this here, but if you look in the reason I undid your edits, it states that the mentioned tip is already stated within Control Marionette, where it belongs.
