Monsters that cannot be swallowed

Please try not to confuse young versions of monsters with the elder version. (Ex. Brown Bear Cub vs Brown Bear, Young Red Fox vs Red Fox)

I bet some of these will be cleared as people raise their mimic's level more. Wisps, Bats, and flying monsters of the like are definitely excluded because... you can't have a floating statue. Loveless 01:24, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Haha. I've seen a flying mimic (It's a joke. The mimic was being knocked back and swallowed. Not a real 'flying mimic') --Kevin Talk«) 08:30, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Quite a lot of the statues are in the air actually (wolf smash, several humanoid poses, mimics) --Fracture

Let the Hunt Begin

If you own a pet mimic, see if you can swallow any monsters that aren't on the list yet. Remember: Mostly human-size or smaller monsters could be swallowed (I have yet to proven wrong). --Kaillera 00:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Skeletons (human sized) and skeleton wolves (wolf sized?) cannot be swallowed. --Kevin Talk«) 02:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if any bosses can be swallowed... gonna try it out on the Black Succubus. If anybody could help me test human-size bosses I'd appreciate it. --Fracture

  • Imps, though smaller than human, can not be swallowed.
  • Skeleton wolves can not be swallowed.
  • Skeletons of all types can not be swallowed.
I attempted to swallow a succubus, but I got the message "This monster cannot be swallowed." Guess they can't be swallowed. --Dias 15:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Can anyone confirm if the mini-skeletons can be swallowed? --Kaillera 17:11, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Mini skeletons cannot be swallowed currently.

Examples

Can we get some examples without a pose? -Kevin Talk«) 19:06, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

As in...? Most statue contains a pose whether we like it or not. --Kaillera 19:11, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Lists

Do we really need a list of monsters that cannot be swallowed if we already have a list of monsters that can be? Might as well put the entire glossary on monsters on this page if people are going to do so. I suggest that everyone just record what can be swallowed, and the rest left to be assumed that they are unaffected by the skill. --Powder Rune 19:15, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, it's more convenient for people to know so they don't to attempt to swallow certain monsters anymore. --Kaillera 19:21, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
The current "what you actually can swallow" list is pretty specific already. You'd assume that things not listed there are swallow-able. If you mean to keep it there for current research such as letting people go out and find out where they can use the skill since it's so new, that's fine. But I think once the hype's died down the second list should be removed as it's unnecessary. If it's kept then we might as well integrate the List of Monsters on this page... which we definitely do not want. --Powder Rune 19:27, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Just move the 'cannot swallow' list to the talk page, since like you said, it is basically 'user reference' --Kevin Talk«) 19:30, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Haha, why did I not think of that >: Thanks Kevin. --Powder Rune 19:32, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Too late for you, already did it. --Kaillera 19:33, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

CP related?

If the CP thing is true then the monsters that couldn't be swallowed be to strong. Cause if you look at the list all the monsters are relitivly weak and the ones that couldn't be swallowed are alot stronger. ~ Hikarixz

Its not CP related. I swallowed a young brown reindeer [boss to my mimic]. --Kevin Talk«) 22:32, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
My pet couldn't swallow a young cactus lizarad, but after I level it up several more times it was able to. --Kaillera 00:25, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
I've confirmed that it is CP-related. I couldn't swallow White Wicked Penguins until I leveled to 6 instead of 5. The CP rule is very loose, but I'm guessing at around 600 CP difference between the mimic and the monster is doable. Case in point - 260 CP odd mimic at level 6 is able to swallow an 800 CP Bandersnatch. Loveless 17:13, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
That's not concrete though, it may still be level-based. Can anyone else try checking the 600cp range? --Fracture
Tested 600 CP mimic vs. 1300~ Brown Bear, with a message for "Too Strong". At least we know 700 doesn't work. Loveless 21:21, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Bears have been swallowed. Yay! http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr339/btvsaddict/lolwhut.png Does this mean it's CP related now? (May I add these seem to be adult grizzly bears and not brown bears or cubs. wow!)--Hengsheng120 07:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I've confirmed the CP-related thing: Monsters that are [Strong] to the Mimic are generally swallowable, which is around 600-650 CP difference (forgot how much exactly). Loveless 21:50, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

o.O so how did someone swallow a giant worm?~Hopedestiny

They have really high level mimic? ---Angevon 23:09, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
If you're meaning a normal Giant Worm then it doesn't sound too incredible a feat, it only has a CP of around 1700 and people have Grizzly Bear statues already after all and even the Brown Grizzly has a CP of over 1800. At any rate, conflicting reports. Kevin says his mimic can swallow a Reindeer which is boss level for him which suggests that it's not CP based. Given later reports though and that Reindeer have fairly low CP, I'm wondering if it's a set variable rather than a sliding variable such as strong/awful/boss ratings. Another theory my friend put forwards is that it's based on Mimic level and that getting a Mimic to certain levels allows you to swallow more monsters but then there'd need to be a list somewhere. A formula of some sort sounds like it'd be easier for the programmers.--Mystickskye 01:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

What Can be Swallowed

I am reasonably certain that there are no monsters that can or cannot be swallowed, and it's solely level-based. The human-sized or less thing does not work, as I have seen a statue of the giant bandersnatch, and tomorrow I will be seeing a statue of a bear from a lv21 mimic, though my own lv7 mimic (same type) can not swallow them. --Fracture

Defnitely seen some Giant Spiders and bison on KR server. ---Angevon 03:14, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Orly? -Trains Mimic to lv 50+- -Swallows some giant spiders- Hehehe... --Kevin Talk«) 03:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Unless you can prove you can swallow a skeleton with no matter how many levels your mimic has, I will believe you --Kaillera 04:30, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
It may take me a while, but I'll start training my mimic and do just that. --Fracture
I have a lv 28 mimic. I'll attempt to swallow some high lv stuff later. Out of time --Kevin Talk«) 03:56, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Statue pics

Rather than posting pictures of swallowed mobs here at random, maybe have a statue section on monster pages, with each of the poses shown?

There are like a million possible poses for each monster. Why not just post a single picture of each monster statue on the actual monster pages. Like...1 picture of a stone ratman on the Rat Man Section for each different rat man (Even tho they do all look alike). --Kevin Talk«) 05:56, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
I think just a few actually. I've been trying it out on several monsters, and it seems that there is a knockback, smash, defense, and on the ground pose, at least for the humanoid monsters. Poses seems to be consistent from kobolds to bandersnatches, and I've only ever managed to get 2 wolf poses, though I think there might be a third for counter. --Fracture

Fractures right from my personal experiences. Although from monsters such as worms theres only one pose.

I have 2 ratmen in r1 sitting pose. the one where you lay on your side. See Rest. And I've seen Kobold bandit w/o stone. It's just a reg statue that looks like a regular kobold. --Kevin Talk«) 03:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Swallow Messages

I believe the "I don't think you can swallow this monster" message is not a very accurate indicator of whether it is actually possible to swallow a monster or not. While on my mimic, I continually got the above message for trying to swallow Brown Bears, but when I finally got one in deadly, it became a "too strong" message. On a side note, I was pretty close to testing Siren but Mimic failed to load Swallow until after it killed it =_= Loveless 21:23, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

I attempted to swallow a Brown grizzly cub, but even after it had looooow hp, it said 'I don't think you can swallow this monster'. --Kevin Talk«) 06:42, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I haven't been able to get a "too strong" or "not enough hp" message on either the brown grizzly or its cub. The only bears I've been able to successfully make statues of are the Brown Snowfield Bear Cub and the White Bear. I have the statue of the White Bear to prove it. >> -Defiance

Everything seems to be swallowable

My level 35 Mimic keeps getting the messages that says it's too strong or has too much HP despite being in deadly. The only time I am able to swallow these monsters are when they are in super deadly (like -500 HP) after my crit smashes on my human. I had a skeleton and skeleton wolf statue earlier today. --Kaillera 19:22, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Meh, snakes seems to be still unswallowable. --Kaillera 19:51, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
So the monsters you can swallow in mega-deadly can't be swallowed at like -10hp? --Fracture
Yes, because it was "Too Strong" or still "Too much HP" --Kaillera 22:24, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

To Bring An End To This

For the purposes of finding a definite answer as to what can and can't be swallowed, I decided to take a look into the game files as one of the xml files lists certain monster specifications including such things as whether the monsters can/cannot be knocked back, tamed, stunned and so forth. Another specification in this file is whether or not the monster can be swallowed (and for later gen, bubbled). Looking in this file shows that most monsters can be swallowed but very specific types can't. For sanity's sake, I'm going through and simply pulling out what can't be swallowed.

  • Succubi (so far, all kinds, not Incubus - see below)
  • Ghost Armor (somewhat redundant as I don't think you ever actually face them but it's there)
  • Bats (normal, meek, "blood", giant, the three cave varieties)
  • Wisps
  • Snakes (brown, blue, white, black,
  • Flying Swords (All kinds including the flying cutlery in castle dungeon but not the Prison Flying Swords)
  • "Event Monsters* (expanded into list below)
    • Sheep, Dog, Red Bear, Brown Fox, White Wolf, Snowball [I don't know either, I'm just copying what's on the list], Watermelon, Watermelon Soldier, Pumpkin, Pumpkin Soldier, Nian, Little Nian, the mini Cake monsters, Watermelon 2, Weak Ghost,
  • Hollow Bear (I don't know anymore)
  • Sprites (Fire/Ice/Lightning as well as their giant counterparts, Wolf, Bear and Sprite)
  • "Bard Skeleton" (yet the Metal Bard Skeleton can be, guess it's put in so you HAVE to kill the Giant Skeletal Hellhounds [which can be swallowed] first)
  • Cloaker (Normal and Ghost but all the other ghosts, ghouls and such technically can be)
  • Chonchon (normal and "promotion")
  • Giant Moth
  • Masks(red, white, yellow and stone)
  • Giant Field Bosses (Prairie [actually, it says "Plain"] Dragon, Desert Dragon, Giant Crocodile, Giant Lion,
  • [color] Horn Cobras (red, blue gray, green)
  • Millipedes (....)
  • Pythons (I think it's safe to say that nothing snake like can be swallowed)
  • Beetles (Young Emerald, Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz)
  • Shrieker
  • Spider Wasp (Yellow, Red, White)
  • Hippopotamus (technically it's an NPC so yeah...)
Actually, only the ferry hippos (the ones you ride across the river) are NPCs. There's attackable/tameable hippos in the Pantay Swamp/Marsh thingy. --Wolfy

These are all the monsters that the game itself marks as being unable to be swallowed no matter what. I'm curious though if some other factor prevents certain special monsters from being swallowed and I'd assume all incredibly high CP monsters can't be swallowed due to a Mimic not being high level enough. Other than that, I'd assume if it's not on this list, it can technically be swallowed. We just need to figure out what determines it.

P.S I've noticed that the file also includes monsters from G7 as well. Relevant monsters were included in this list.--Mystickskye 10:41, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

So, if they don't list the Incubus, does that mean he can be swallowed? After seeign that the Succubus can't be swallowed, I makes me curious if he can or can not. o.o; ─┤Hakumei} 22:09, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
See for yourself.
  • Race ID="14001" ClassName="Incubus_Dugald" StringID="/incubus/male/incubus_dugald/"
  • Race ID="14002" ClassName="Incubus_Senmag" StringID="/incubus/male/incubus_senmag/"
  • Race ID="14003" ClassName="Incubus_Transform_Dugald" StringID="/incubus/male/incubus_transform_dugald/"
  • Race ID="14004" ClassName="Incubus_Transform_Senmag" StringID="/incubus/male/incubus_transform_senmag/"
Compare to:
  • Race ID="10301" ClassName="BlackSuccubus" StringID="/succubus/female/black_succubus/not_swallow/"
The StringID is where a lot of the more interesting things are contained. The giant iria field bosses for example look a bit like this:
  • Race ID="300003" ClassName="DesertDragon" StringID="/iria/Giantfieldboss/desertdragon/not_down/no_delay/boss_dragon/use_dash/neutral/no_hitmotion/unable_tame/not_swallow/sketchable/"
At the very least, there's nothing actually blocking Incubi from being swallowed as there is with many other monsters.--Mystickskye 01:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Details

Under 'PetSwallow' in skill_leveldetail, I found 3 variables, 6200, 10, and 1000. Anyone know what it may refer to? I would think that 10 would be amount of hp it would need to be swallowed or less, since 10% doesnt really work.

I believe 1000 is the range it can swallow. Your mimic never needs to be too near to swallow anything. As for the others, I don't know. I doublechecked the mana consumption and it's definately 12, not 10. --Kaillera 16:38, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
I mana consumption is on a different part of the line, not the variables. And i'm sure 1000 cant be the range. That's like..half a long bow. --Kevin Talk«) 22:08, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Skill prep time or cooldown time? ---Angevon 22:43, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Skill Prep, another part of same line. Cooldown, none. --Kevin Talk«) 23:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

JP WIki

Well, I found the JP wiki article on the skill (here). They have a small list of swallowable monsters, but overall it seems they also have no idea what determines the success. Just in case anybody wanted to look at it. ---Angevon 23:10, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Shinies yay!

When you swallow a monster with the plate, does the plate get expended in the creation of the statue?Novaix 12:20, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

If expended means used, yes. --Kevin Talk«) 18:34, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

A nice corollary of this...When a monster is swallowed, and the mimic has multiple types of plates in its inventory, are plates used in the same order as any other item? Ie, from the bottom-right?--Demaetri 19:41, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

List

Since there's an exact list of what cannot be swallowed above, and it seems everything else can be swallowed, wouldn't it make more sense to change the list on the page from what can be swallowed to what cannot be swallowed? --Simpet 23:44, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Statues

Can statues be traded? --Heckzu 01:21, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

yes. I can confirm that at the very least a stone statue can be traded. Probably others too.Edetha 01:45, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

flashing statues

yeah i was doing karu on day and i got bored and i made mimic swallow a mimic and flash on and off it kinda looked like tv turning invisble and visble at a fast paste --Naota3 08:46, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Wont let me pick up the statues when i am using the pet

ok, for some reason, whenever i try to pick up a statue i made when i am using the mimic, it keeps saying that it's not mine, even though i made it just a few seconds ago. I first thought that it was just because i died after weakening it, but that wasn't the case, seeing as the next time i tried, i didn't die, and i still couldn't pick it up--Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 15:55, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Swallow (2018)

Skeleton (Gairech Hill (Dragon Ruins)) 1118 CP? (need verification) Mimic Lvl 200 CP= 1090

Unable to Swallow

      V

Skeleton 250 HP (CP 1118 vs Level 200 Mimic with CP 1090) Deadly approximately -5000 Unable to Swallow. Rumors of being able to swallow as long you knock it down a certain "deadly" then be able to swallow. (Kaillera says -500 HP) I did Deadly -5000 (Approximately and still can't grab a statue) Does Deadly + wounded deadly = same thing?

Currently if my guess is right. Monster with CP under 1000 is Swallowable and turned into a statue.

(Reanimated Corpses)

CP is unknown Comes in small size and big size but both are able to be swallowed as long it is in "deadly" mode. G20 Mission monster. No CP currently nor image nor any information on this monster.

Update

Mimic is 1090 CP but can not swallow a Brown Forest Lizard which has 1000 CP.
