A while before that, someone removed "magic" from "magic damage" in that line, making it false. In case that's not clear; physical(melee/ranged) damage can get elemental properties from the attacker's equipment, while for magic it's just determined by the skill used. dmg from a player's spells is not influenced by elemental enchants on that player's equipment.
