• Anathema refers to a sacrifice or to something shunned, excommunicated, or banned. In some cases, it can mean both.
• The runes on the cover of the Book of Anathema are actual Anglo-Saxon runes.
  • The cover reads ᛋ ᚨ ᛏ ᛁ ᚾ, and is pronounced as /sætiːn/.
    • While this is more closely the pronunciation of the fabric "satin", it is likely meant to mean "Satan".
