  • A Skill is the learned capacity to carry out pre-determined results.
  • Skills require Ability Points (AP) to rank them up and become stronger.
    • There are a max of 16 Ranks for each skill. Some skills have fewer ranks implemented in different Licensed versions of the game.
      • The ranks are labeled Novice, F, E, D, C, B, A, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, with Novice being the lowest rank and 1 being the highest rank.
        • Some skills can be advanced to Dan 1, Dan 2, and Dan 3 at the Advancement Test Hall, but requires Rank 1 of that skill.
    • In order to rank up a skill, a minimal of 100 points must be earned for that rank's training requirements. Once that has been achieved, an "Advance" button appears next to the skill which opens up a window that displays the next rank, changes in skill effects, additional stats provided, the AP cost to rank up, the AP amount the player has, and another "Advance" and "Cancel" button to confirm the player's decision.
      • There are two to three ways to gain skill training proficiency:
        1. Performing tasks listed in the skill's training method.
        2. Using Skill Training Seals.
        3. For most skills that have over 30 points of training proficiency, you may train the skill with AP by clicking the AP Train button.
      • Perfectly training a skill increases the EXP rewarded for ranking the skill. If the skill is Rank 1, a Master Title for that skill is given instead.
        • However, it is not recommended to perfect train the skill unless one is aiming for the title, as the EXP gained is by a very small amount.
  • Most skills possess loading times which is how long it takes to load the skill.
  • Most skills possess cooldown times which is the inability to use the skill in rapid succession until a certain time has passed.
  • Skills are subdivided into different categories based on type. The main types are:
    • Life: These skills use production and living, creating materials or equipment. They have a gold background.
    • Combat: These skills use close-ranged or archery-based combat. They have a red background.
    • Magic: These skills use magic mostly consisting of large area of effect attacks, healing support, or mana regeneration. They have a blue background.
    • Alchemy: These skills use alchemy to assist in Life skills or utilize magic-like attacks in combat. They have a gradient background of red to orange.
    • Fighter: These skills use knuckles in 1:1 close-ranged combat. They have a gray background.
    • Music: These skills use music to create songs or provide buffs in the battlefield. They have a pink background.
    • Puppetry: These skills use marionettes and wires for area of effect crowd control in combat. They have a gradient background of teal and light blue.
    • Dual Guns: These skills use a pair of guns for rapid firing attacks. They have a gradient background of turquoise to pink.
    • Ninja: These skills use a shuriken for a mixture of close and long-ranged combat, traps, and aggro control. They have a dark red background.
    • Chain: These skills use a chain blade for long-ranged attacks.
    • Hidden: These skills are related to hidden hybrid Talents. They have a light gray background.
    • Transformation: These skills allow the player to transform and strengthen his/her stats; see the appropriate skill page for more information. They require level-ups instead of AP to rank up.
    • Demigod: These skills allow the player to embody themselves with the power of a god and use their abilities. They are similar to transformation skills but they have a tab of their own and require level-ups and rebirths instead of AP to rank up.
    • Crusader: These skills call upon divine power with various utility effects. The main skills each possess "subskills" that improve their abilities and use Crusader Points via Crusader Levels to rank up.
    • Divinity: These skills utilize a transformation of a divine, otherworldly power.
  • Other skills:
    • Unlearned: this tab is for skills that the player has yet to learn. It also tells what category the skill belongs to and how to learn it.
      • When hovering over the skill, important key words, usually pertaining to quests or other skills, are labeled in orange. The coloration does not show when opening the skill's "Learn Method" window.
    • Actions: Technically skills, however, they require no AP and do not rank up. These have a green background and are accessible from the "Action" window.
    • Monster: These are special skills exclusive to monsters.
    • Pet: These are special skills exclusive to pets and partners.
  • Player skills used by monsters, NPCs, pets, or partners are equal to that of a human, unless the race is an elf or giant.
  • Player skills used by monsters, NPCs, pets, or partners bear different loading/cooldown times than players even if their race is that of a human, elf, or giant.
