I'm still just a kid but I have to fight monsters everyday. I really don't like fighting. Is there any other way, besides fighting, to earn money and experience? -A 10-year-old boy from Tir Chonaill-
There is another way! If you want to earn money and experience, but don't like to fight, why not give a part-time job a try? The people at Tir Chonaill and Dunbarton are always looking for part-timers to help them with their work. (The villagers have a sign that says NPC in front them) Now, I'll tell you everything you need to know on how to acquire a part-time job.
Check the Job Start Time!
Each job has a set time of when they are hiring. You can find the time posted on the bulletin in front of the store, or the person hiring. You will notice that the sign says [recruiting time: When the morning shadow points...to when it points there]. The shadow refers to your character's shadow. Choose the auto controlled view from the menu bar below, or just press [z], which will fix your view to always face north. Then you will be able to tell time from your shadow; just like a compass!
During Recruitment Time, Talk to the Villagers.
Start a conversation with the villagers when they are recruiting for jobs. On the main screen of your travel notebook, you will see a keyword titled [Regarding Jobs]. Click on the keyword and you will be able to receive a part-time job. However, some jobs are popular and hard to get, so it's a good idea to get there early. You can choose from a variety of jobs, such as delivering, collecting, shearing sheep, selling firewood, making clothes and much more!
Complete the Task and Report Back Before the Deadline Ends.
When you receive a job, the deadline for the job will appear on the upper right corner of the screen. You must finish your job until this time limit in order to receive pay and experience. Once you finish the job, go report back to the employer, and you are finished~! Remember, it is very important that you report back! Even if you didn't finish the job, when it's time to report, go report back to the employer. If you don't, you might not receive any compensation for your work. However, even if you have finished the job, you cannot report back before the report time. If you don't complete your job fully by the deadline, you will receive a lesser pay than what was promised. That should be obvious, right?
Tip
1. When you receive a job, depending on which job, you will have a title that says [~ worker] while you work.
2. Depending on the job, you might need to have the right tools with you, so have it ready. You're not going to chop firewood with bare hands, right?
3. If you do your job well, after awhile, the people will favor you and your pay will even go up. In the beginning, you will receive easy jobs, then advance to intermediate and advanced jobs. However, if you don't complete your job, it will be difficult for you to receive advanced jobs.
