Not sure if this needs mentioning on the page or not, but I can confirm that the bandit goblin field boss does drop double ring mail blacksmith manuals, which are great for training r8 smithing to r7.

The mobs in the event are the exact same from where they are pulled from. However, "training blacksmithing" is completely irrelevant to the event; event details should only have event details and not miscellaneous tips.

Well the Mabiland page mentioned on the cave of trials bosses that the bosses there had the same drops. I know they mentioned Siren as well as I think one other mob that had the same drop. I figure this is kind of the same thing.
