Is there any advantage to upgrading the fishing pole?
Sometimes it can be useful to upgrade Life tools purely for extra durability (Gathering Axe, Mandolin, etc) but in the case of the fishing pole upgrades there are no advantages given unless you want to use it to whack monsters over the head.
