Ranged Training?

Since Gold Strike is technically a long-ranged skill, would it also count to Ranged Attack Training like Rock Throwing?

Pretty sure it wouldn't, since the main difference is action versus skill, though I didn't get any ranged attack throwing experience when using the skill. I may have overlooked and ignored it, though!
