Templates Required

About the Quest Details

Introduction text

  • Unlike most pages, the 'details' heading does not exist for story pages. Instead, list the following:
  • Storyline Requirements (Cumulative level, previous storyline clear, combat skill level, etc);
  • Title rewards and conditions;
  • Special dialogue conditions; wearing some outfits or owning certain titles may result in extra dialogue that would not occur otherwise;
  • For main story generations, add a quote at the top of the page that introduces it.
  • Add the table of contents under those details, before the NPC list.

Media

  • Add unframed media (be it a promotional trailer from Nexon, or the banner of the storyline, or both) at the right of the text.

About Side-Quest Page names

  • Since side-quests are typically not numbered or detailed as well as Generations, in order to keep things consistent, the side-quest page should be named after The first quest of the questline.

About the Template Segments

  • When creating a new generation or side-quest page, you will also need to update the Generation and NavboxStoryline Templates.
  • You will also need to update the Mainstream Quests page.

About NPClisttable

  • NPCList does not draw from the NPCs semantically100 due to changing roles from generation to generation; instead, you will need to fill out the role of every individual NPC inside the table.
  • List all NPCs in alphabetical order.
  • If the story contents is split in two, and spoilers would occur from select NPCs being inside the list, create a second npclist for the separate part of that story content.
    • Example: In Generation 17, Ruairi appears only from the second half onwards despite being present under a different appearance prior it.

About MainstreamQuest

Image1 section

Refer to the Mabinogi World Wiki:Getting Started page for information and resources on managing images.

  • Insert here the portrait of the most relevant NPC to the quest. This is often the briefer of the quest.
    • If the briefer is unknown, use the Unknown Quest Giver portrait.
  • Scale the NPC portrait to 100px.
  • Add below the NPC portrait the pictures of items involved in the quest, if there are any. Scale them as needed, but there should not be more than two items per row.
    • Should there be more than four pictures, the NPC can be removed from the segment.

NPC Section

  • List all NPCs that appear in the quest, separated by a comma. Link to each NPC page.

Info section

  • Type the basic quest briefing in a single line. Sign the name with a (Space)-(Space)(NPCNAME).

Instructions

  • Instructions make use of numbered lists (#) and bullet lists.
  • Numbered lists should list the general objectives as listed on the quest.
  • The bullet points serve to describe in further detail what is expected of the player.
*Optional Important Note
#Quest Objective 1
#*Detail 1
#*Detail 2
#**Details of Detail 2
#Quest Objective 2
#Quest Objective 3
*Complete the quest. [Rewards]

Instructions: Details

  • The location of an NPC should be added as a detail if it is not already stated in the objective and if the location can not be determined by the player using [Location] button in the quest window.
    • If the NPC is located in Rath Royal Castle, but the objective does not tell the player where in Rath Royal Castle.
  • Choice prompts that have gameplay implications should be added as a detail.
    • If the player can only proceed by choosing the correct answer.
    • If the choices increases or decreases a flag or value that affects dialogue or rewards later.

Instructions: Frequently re-occurring phrases

In quest instructions, there are a handful of frequently re-occurring phrases. In order to keep some level of consistency throughout the guide pages, please try to modify similar statements to instead match these phrases.

Talk to _, located at|near (the) _|<u>_</u>.
You'll get _ (2 x 2).
Offer _ at the _ Dungeon altar to enter _.
You'll be given the Taillteann|Tara shadow mission, _
You'll be prompted to enter the mission, _
Without a prompt, you'll enter the mission, _
Complete the quest. [10,000 EXP, 2,000 G]
The quest will auto-complete. [10,000 EXP, 2,000 G]
After completing the quest, a cutscene will occur.

Tabs

  • Tabs should occur for these reasons:
    • Location check of an area, if the right spot of the quest table is already taken by artwork;
    • The quest itself has sub-quests, like the Memory Book's The Blue Truth quest.
    • A detailed help guide is required, like Generation 18 Episode 2's Principles of a Pirate quest
      • In this case, create a sub-page for the guide itself and transclude it onto the quest tab.

About Story Artwork

  • Story Artwork is usually framed, specific artwork to a quest. A gallery of Story Artwork can be found here.
  • These can and should be included in quests.
  • Artwork in the quest table should not be framed, just aligned to the right, at 250px wide.
    • Put them immediately under the |Instruction= argument, before the quest objectives.
  • Only put 2 story images in a single quest at most. If a quest has more than two, a third can be used in the NPC portrait's section, and the three most relevant artworks kept for the quest.
  • If putting story artwork in the NPC picture, set its width to be 200px.
  • All artwork, including credits, should be put into a gallery at the bottom of the page, in order, before the storyline navigation box.

About Mission/Dungeon Information

  • Bolden the Mission names.
    • Even if you cannot see the mission's name when inside of it (Q shortcut disabled), once cleared, the <System> conversation channel will give you the name of the mission.
