I have one on my homestead...

...And there is no homestead cost. I keep my homestead cost to zero in case I have an extended sabbatical.

It costs a homestead stone fragment, which is 1/10 of a homestead stone. The maintenance cost display rounds down so you see 0. I'm not sure if it actually takes 1/10 of a homestead stone from your total every week though.
