Talk:Eweca Fishing Event (2009)
The shadows say that they should be used with firewood, intead of copper plates or silver ingots. Using 3 copper plates does work for making a shield. --~Shadoe 12:28, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
I've had completely different results. Out of 112 attempts (manual fishing), I've fished 10 Eweca Shadows. The character's fishing skill rank is C. Also, I fished a 96cm Eweca Shadow and the announcement was not "a large catch", but the generic "there's something caught on the hook" announcement. FYI. --Jspillers 01:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Maybe the success rate is related to rank or location. Out of 288 attempts, I fished up 2 Shadows --Kentngo 23:38, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
With 100+ bait used, I fished up 5 Ewecas (using Auto Fish) on my rank 4 fishermen on Iria Fishing Boat. They seem very common and easy to get. --Sai 11:48, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Rank F fishing, with a full bait tin, I auto-fished 2 eweca's. I don't think rank affects the rate of eweca shadows, but I know it does affect your fishing success rate (wether you fail or succeed, and maybe speed.. but not the rate of certain items, keep that in mind). Just letting you guys know... --Ashe 08:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Size
I've added information about the size of the Shadow used and the item that comes out. It's very general, feel free to expand it. --Kentngo 23:31, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Incorrect Information
Fixed the copper plate requirements it said two not three on the wiki. --Jcl14125 16:56, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
"During this event, players may use the fishing skill during night, when the moon appears in the waters, to fish Shadow of Eweca."
Where in the event page is this said? Nothing on the page even mentions having to fish at night. In fact, here's a direct quote from the page:
"A shadow of Eweca has fallen from the sky, and if you can fish up an Eweca Shadow, you're one step closer to creating an item infused with the power of Eweca! Combine, using the Handicraft skill, an Eweca Shadow and three copper plates to form an Eweca Shield!" --Revi 14:21, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Success Rate
The success rate isn't correct.
My main character had a 94% chance yesterday while previewing the items in the handicraft list in game.
When I checked later, it was down to 89%. I don't know where I got the 5% boost (was I transed? I don't think so; and I don't think I was in a party), but the chance isn't always 99%. My tailor on the other hand, who has rank 6 production mastery has a 99% chance. ~Rusty 07:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'll remove the 99% success rate statements from the page then and see what my alternate characters' success rates are. Thanks for the info. --Revi 14:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
