Your probably speaking of the AI Bug, where they attack at random while your chasing it. ~ Shadowboy132

In the bug section, it says "All monsters are experiencing an AI change, which is believed to be a bug. Sometimes after knock-back, they may automatically retaliate (no animation shown) which is not normal." This is also common with Skeletons or Mimics. ~ Shadowboy132
