Getting 1,000 does nothing other than give you the box. The box cannot be opened, but when given to someone it shows a commitment to the person as making 1,000 can take a month or longer. ~Zallist 21:40, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

*head scratchy* Not to brag or anything, but when I made 1000 paper cranes (even though my friend gave me 258, I still made 1000, with 258 extra ._.?), it took me less than two weeks. ^^; I was really commited..heh...--♫ѕταя♪ 13:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Some people like to give the cranes as a proof of friendship or love. My girlfriend made 1000 for me just for my birthday. It's a nice way of showing commitment. ~Zallist 19:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Not everything revolves around a reward for doing something, or rather, a reward that you can see. Even if it may seem like there's no point at all to it, you might end up feeling slightly more...special? knowing that you dedicated all that work into such a rare present.--♫ѕταя♪ 21:36, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

One or more paper cranes also make a gift box when dropped on the ground or placed in house inventory. The color of the paper determines the color of the ribbon (there's a random chance of getting different colored cranes whenever you make one) and the rest of the box is slow flashy gold.
