A square sheet of paper folded to resemble a crane through the art of origami. Folk tradition has it that anyone who creates a thousand paper cranes will have a deeply held wish granted.

• The The World of Handicrafts book's list of collectable items. The Paper Crane is the third of six items listed in the book and each can be created via the Handicraft skill. One of each item is collected in the book and a Handicraftsman's Bandana is the reward for collecting all six.
• 1000 are needed for the Generation 24 quest "A Sign of the Times"

Trivia

• Stacking 1,000 Paper Cranes will result in them turning into a present-like box, with the crane on top.

The box cannot be opened. It takes over an real life hour to make 1,000 cranes. It is seen as a good luck charm in many Eastern provinces. It shows a moral commitment rather than to produce a reward.
