Talk:Wisp

From Mabinogi World Wiki

i put a link to "will o' the wisp" enchant for the cap drop, since it is not easy to reach rank b suffix page with only searching for the name of the enchant. --Kgptzac 17:31, 27 May 2008 (PDT)

Windmill

When you use control of darkness on a Wisp and control it, sometimes you see the windmill icon on it's head. Does it actually have this skill, or is it just a bug in the system ? --Zephyre 10:287, 5 December 2008 (PST)

Controlled monsters will sometimes use skills you never thought they had, like Imps using Windmill, or Black Ship Rats using Lightning Bolt. Their "vs. player" AI just never brings them up. --Naiya 20:00, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Anyone know the drop rate of the enchanted merchant cap?

Counter Attack & Smash relatives

Apparently the Wisp NEVER uses the !!!!! sign. I have only seen it use the !!!! sign, which is BOTH Smash and Counter Attacks. However, the Wisp cannot move while using !!!! sign which indicates a Counter Attack, but the Wisps rushes torward the player when it uses the !!!! sign which indicates a Smash. Why is there a confusion of the Exclamation Marks? ~ Shadowboy132

Wisp's Protection

Today I was testing on how much protection the wisp has. I found out it has 30. I used a weapon with my crit at 64% and I crit on the wisp. Then I used a weapon with 60%, I could not land a single hit. Then when I used a weapon with 62% crit, I was able to crit. So I believe the wisp has 30% protectin. ~ Miyuna

I just recently (2 minutes ago) crit a wisp with 60.0% crit. As much as I want to believe that it was a freak accident, there is no way my crit could have went up or down. (I crit it, and then hit C to see what my crit rate was) --Zephyre 08:13, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Nevermind, I just realized that I was looking at the average crit rate (dual wield) and not the crit rate of the specific weapon, which ended up being 71.6%. Let this be a lesson to all of us~ --Zephyre 09:50, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Merge

I vote merging with spritesNovaix 09:24, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

I vote against. BladeBlade 01:50, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I also vote against. The way you're thinking about it, you're planning to merge them because they share the same AI pattern. If that was the case, then we'd have to merge Kobolds with Goblins, Rats with Armadillos, etc. Zephyre 03:28, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
They are also similar species (wisps can sort of be viewed as Air Sprites) and their similar language. This isn't based off A.I.Novaix 06:38, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I agree, same AI, similar appearance, similar skills, and chess pieces have far less relation(none to my knowledge) and are on the same page, furthermore, there is no real distinction between the two other than the name "sprite"--Neouu84 21:36, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
I vote against it as well. They are nothing alike besides the fact that they are magical/mythical magic users. Besides, Fire=Fire, Ice=Water, Lightning=Air. There is no way they are the "Air" version of sprites, especially since wisp means light and not air. They are nothing alike besides the fact that they use similar language. Although, added a page how to read monster AI without Sharp Mind would be useful. Post Script: They look nothing alike. Pyrus 23:07, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
I must disagree with you, partly because I do not understand where your elemantal parallels are coming from, but if you look at them: A.I Pretty much the same, wisps just tend to use counter more often. Appearance: they are a ball of light, sprites are a ball of light with shapes corresponding to their element whereas wisps can be seen as the non-elemental form, explaining why they are round. Language is the same, they both float off the ground and are entities of energy. I am thinking they are the same, just look at bugbear and troll- this is an even greater parallel. Not only that but the animal sprites have a far weaker connection to sprites classified by their actual behavior.--Neouu84 23:11, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
According to race.xml, they are of different races. I vote against :x --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 23:14, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Taming wild animals

A piece of trivia, the best (wild) place for taming wisps is Spiral Hill I think, due to two spawns near each other. And there are rocks to hide from them.

Chess Piecies

I don't think the Chess Piece mobs exactly belong on this page. They arn't Wisps, at all.

Simpet09:34, 16 April 2011

How'd they get on this page anyway?
