Weaponbox errors

Do not change the whole weaponbox back to the last revision. Try to work out which parameters are causing the errors and fix them individually ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:15:00:58 (Saturday)

Oi

Please restore the page :). It might not be worked on atm, but it will be in the future! ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:05:19:06:34 (Thursday)

Does anyone still use this template to create weapons articles?

TheFarix16:29, 11 May 2012

I think we should make a new box that integrations the limitations and dye details as well as stun time.

Tellos15:20, 12 January 2011

We might add do that later, I'm currently just sticking to the current weapon layout except for upgrades tabs. I'm testing this with page previews atm and can't seem to fix a bug... ~ɯ TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:12:23:25 (Wednesday)

We also need to put whether or not a weapon can receive Special Upgrade once G13 hits.

Bug fixed with help from ikkisuki! I'll work on the stun time now ~ɯ TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:01:14 (Thursday)

I think this page has everything you need to consider for a weapon page template, so don't leave anything out! :o

kaede-kit18:22, 12 January 2011

I'll ignore dye details because... They all use metal dyes for the metal parts and regular dyes for the other parts. Pallets for the "other" parts are always leather >.>
Crafting requirements can be put after the template and so can ego weapon details since not many weapons have those

What I do need to consider is the revamp of the Weaponbox. Tellos suggests that we integrate stun time and limitations inside it. The problem is that I am very bad at designing but quite good at developing. Therefore I need someone to create a drawing or whatnot of a new version of that template. It doesn't matter how flashy or complex since I probably can make one like that (Apart from if XHTML limits me from it). Things to consider: "Pull-out" boxes, Tooltips ~ɯ TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:05:20 (Thursday)

Palettes for the sheaths of Japanese swords are cloth, iirc, and Highlander Claymore's sheath can be dyed with fixed dye. I don't think you can really make the generalization.

those exceptions can be added in to the bottom :P 小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:11:15 (Thursday)

If you can give me a list of the XHTML Tags and parameters I can whip something up. I'm pretty good with aesthetics.

Just draw a picture or something :) ~ɯ TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:07:40 (Thursday)

My drawing is terrible, but I can just use basic HTML to make a scaled table.

Tellos00:50, 13 January 2011

Go ahead then. Use any tag you want. You can resort to using a spreadsheet program though if you wish ~ɯ TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:09:14 (Thursday)

http://i54.tinypic.com/30j64w5.jpg Weapon Box Layout

I seem to have forgotten Splash Values and upgrades box.

Note that the boxes would NOT have headers (like in the durability box it'd say something like "Durability: 10")

Tellos10:10, 13 January 2011

Looks quite well. What do you suggest as the parameters? I think you would need a "Type" parameter though... ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:21:00 (Thursday)

Weapon Class is one of the following: Axe, Blunt, Sword, Two Handed (prefixed for weapons that occupy both slots including bows), wand, staff, tool.

Parameters are the paramters as defined by Itemdb.xml with respect to enchants only. Valid Weapon Class List:

2-Hand, Shield, Crossbow, Bow, Wand, Metal, Wood, Sword, Blunt, Single-Handed Axe, Instrument, Weapon, Knuckle. (pardon if I forgot a few).

Example: Bear Claw Knuckle is: 2-Hand \ Metal \ Knuckle \ Weapon

Example2: Trinity Staff is: 2-Hand \ Wand \ Weapon

Example3: Longbow is: Bow \ Wood \ Weapon

Example4: Flute is: Instrument \ Wood

Example5: Kite Shield is: Shield \ Metal

Also above the repair lists center the type of repair it is (i.e general, blacksmith, fleta-only, etc).

What is the usable range for regular melee weapons? Also, what is the "special limitations and unique" box going to be used for? ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:13:21:21 (Thursday)

13:21, 13 January 2011

Usable range for melee weapons can be changed to splash stats or we can leave it as 140.

Special Limitations should contain the following:

Special actions the item allows (i.e trinity staff things) Whether or not it is Special-Upgrade allowed Whether or not it is dyeable Whether or not it is egoable Whether or not it is tradeable Any other things that might need to be specified that are not already specified in the weapon box.

Tellos13:28, 13 January 2011

I personally believe that Obtained at and Sold At should be made into separate headers for the entire page. Too many NPCs sell some weapons for different prices and too many monsters drop weapons with different stats (grades as we use to refer to them...which is based off dura). A list would display these differences better than having them mushed up in a box.

Khenta13:59, 14 January 2011

Very well then. But Angevon and the other main contributors to the wiki should agree first. Ask them to go on the IRC on something? ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:01:14:22:25 (Friday)

~小太郎 TALK<sub style="margin-left:-26px 14:25, 14 January 2011

I think I will leave that to you. :)

Khenta15:02, 14 January 2011

Monsters don't drop weapons of a specific grade. There is just "Monster Grade" which is +1~4 dura +1~3 max/min/crit -2~12 balance. Giant field bosses are the exception to the durability part. If a monster drops a weapon its stats are random. As for the sells at, that only applies to a few items. I don't think there will be a problem in general. You could always make those 2 boxes collapsible.

Tellos17:25, 14 January 2011

I'm just telling how it was originally set up before G4+ came out. Yes, there is Monster Grade and Blacksmith Grade...but we just referred as grade. The monster grade stats use to be pretty constant and was very easy just to refer to the by how much +dura it had. If you played NA in earlier days, Ratman dropped Daggers were pretty popular. They dropped +1, +2, and +3 dura and the stats were almost always the same except a few cases. I've noticed in new shadow missions the dura and the stats aren't as constant as you could find a Gladius with base stats with +2 dura. As for the boxes...I would personally like to see less constant in them...no need to cramp everything into a small box would you have a whole page to use.
