-The Great Camping Companion: Camp Kit-

Written by Genara

Have you been noticing the beautiful colors lighting up the fields of Erinn as of late? They are camps. But putting up a camp requires materials, such as dry, sturdy waterproof cloths and large, strong wood, not to mention trained individuals to make it a cozy resting place.

But it seems that many adventurers have no idea about the positive as well as negative aspects of putting up a camp. I had to learn the ropes about camping through my own adventures, but I decided to put all of what I know in writing so I could share with others the lovely and positive aspects about putting up camp. Below is a list of what I consider to be positive aspects of setting up camp.

  1. It is easy to set up.

The basic materials for setting up camp include waterproof materials and wood to be used as corner posts. They say that adventurers long ago had to go the general store to buy the waterproof material, then go out in the woods to find the right kind of wood for setting up post, not to mention that they also had to cut up the firewood themselves. Nowadays, they have camp kits which make everything much easier. Anyone who knows how to set up a campfire could put up camp. (Be sure not to confuse this with the camp fire kit).

  2. Does not go out so easily.

Setting up camp begins first and foremost by setting up a campfire, then covering the surrounding the area with the cloth. Because the camp is set up with plenty of surrounding space and provides great protection from wind and rain, the fire that is set within the camp does not usually go out very easily. All you have to do is to be sure that there is enough firewood to keep it burning. Camps are the best for anyone that cooks and/or needs to destroy an object to break an enchantment spell.

  3. Faster Recovery.

The campfire keeps our bodies warm, which also helps the circulation and as a result, heals our wounds that much more quickly. According to the healers, it improves the immune system to heal the wounds naturally. Inside the camp, the warmth of the campfire is not lost in the open air, but is kept inside the camp which means that the temperature is much warmer all around as compared to campfires. Camps therefore are much more effective means to restoring our energy.

  4. Eliminates field hunting penalties.

Unlike dungeons, you often find yourself surrounded by the enemy out on the hunting fields. This may cause you to be that much more fatigued, which means that all you get at the end after knocking down the enemy is just some experience points. If you have a camp set up, however, which you use as your base, simply going in and coming back out of the camp can offer you immediate recovery. A safe haven of rest away from the enemy is good for an adventurer, not only for the body but also for the heart. If you want to do some hunting in the fields, set up a camp and you will be able to hunt for a long time without any penalties.

  5. You can rebirth from within the camp.

If you're in the middle of a battle that is far away from a town and you become incapacitated, anyone would be frantic. If it's somewhere deserted, it would be even worse. So, if you were to have a camp set up you would be able to resume your activities right there. Even if there is no one around to help you, you won't need to run back and forth to the nearest town any more.

  6. You can enjoy a warm and comforting place.

But of all of the reasons that make setting up camp such a wonderful experience, this one is the best. For an adventurer, living outdoors, getting rained on and getting caught in the winds is just everyday life. But if you could set up a camp to enjoy the warmth of the indoors with your friends on occasion there could be nothing that's more worth it. If you haven't yet enjoyed the coziness of having a camp, you must! It's an absolute must! You are sure to experience a kind of warmth and coziness you have never experienced before.

As I've discussed earlier, setting up camp requires the basic skills of setting up a campfire. Therefore, the more skilled you are at setting up campfires, the larger the camps you will be able to put up. I hope that everyone who reads this book will learn to have an appreciation for the loveliness of setting up camp, and learn to enjoy life in a lovely and cozy way!
