The line "'Contrary to popular belief, elemental equipment does not boost damage" was deleted with the comment "False, I'd like to see evidence.". What exactly would you want proven?
That it does not improve elemental damage, which it does. One source I have is here. (Note that that article covers both elemental and reforge elements, not to be confused.) And also note I didn't add that it can be done, I removed that it cannot, which is false.
A while before that, someone removed "magic" from "magic damage" in that line, making it false. In case that's not clear; physical(melee/ranged) damage can get elemental properties from the attacker's equipment, while for magic it's just determined by the skill used. dmg from a player's spells is not influenced by elemental enchants on that player's equipment.
