Ego and Upgrades?

So this sword is nonrepairable but does anyone know if it is possible to ego it now since there are proficiency hammers basically falling from the sky. It's basically a hard bypass to the durability requirement and should allow for the checking of upgrades. This was once the strongest melee weapon in the game. Anyone care to give it a shot?

Ego weapon types are created manually by the devs, they're not dynamically generated.

Can't ego a gargoyle sword even if you managed to find one that fit the other criteria, because there is no ego for it.
