Please confirm but it seems switching into then out of housing channel will cause egg to "re-spawn" making you have to start over.
This was confirmed a while ago by a guildie of mine. Thank you for double confirming though.
Fyi, Housing is not an event channel. Therefore you'll lose it if you go in there.
