I just obtained a Phoenix Ear Muffs from a Fine box. The page currently says that you can only get them from Finest boxes. Of note, the egg did have fire+music but was only 30 or so minutes over 300.
Please confirm but it seems switching into then out of housing channel will cause egg to "re-spawn" making you have to start over.
The fire from a Camp Kit does affect the egg, despite what the page says right now. However, you have to stay inside it for somewhere between 3 and 10 minutes and then leave. (I'm not sure how long because I forgot my character was sitting in the tent until 10 minutes later.) Entering and exiting almost immediately has no effect.
Also, as far as I can tell, the appearance has no effect on incubation time at all. I had one character play music and get the fire effect, then left her standing around for two hours. The egg's progress was 56 at the start, and 176 at the end of that time.
The appearance isn't based on time, it's based on if you have:
- Been near a fire for 3 minutes. (Not necessarily sitting.)
- Played music by a fire.
Appearance only matters if you're trying to get the title, doesn't change the reward. Also, each of those things only matter to an egg once. Doing it for hours doesn't do anything.
I never said the appearance was based on time. o.O; I only said it also didn't change the amount of time needed, since there was a sentence on the page that said it "wasn't known how appearance affected incubation time."
Also, I'm sort of objecting to the bolded line that says "Camps from a Camp Kit do not hold any effect on the egg," but don't feel comfortable changing the page when I didn't observe the exact amount of time needed in a camp to apply the fire effect. If you're certain it's 3 minutes, adding that to the page would probably help a bunch of people. ^.^
The original article from Nexon says "Can't reach 600 minutes? You'll also be rewarded for simply taking care of the egg. The more time you've incubated your egg, the better your prizes!," yet under Details it says that logging out does not affect the egg's progress. Are there less points earned for the egg (and thusly worse prizes given) if one doesn't stay logged in with the egg for the full 10 hours?
The egg will hatch regardless if you're logged in or not. That is the progress they are referring to. In order to obtain the best reward, you need to incubate it to 600/600 by being online for a cumulative 10 hours before the egg hatches, as well as sitting next to an expiring campfire and playing music. 600/600 is not required for hatching. Think of it as a reward quality meter.
In other words, if you logged in or 5 minutes and then didn't log on for the rest of the day, the egg will still hatch and you will still get a prize, albeit a crappy one.
Are we sure it's 7 PM? On Tarlach yesterday, the scrolling message at the top said the egg would hatch in in 19.0 hours (2 PM PST today).
On Mari, the eggs hatched at 10:00pm EST, so it'd be 7:00 PST (which matches yesterday). We won't know for sure until we wait a few days to pass.
This article also mentions the 19.0 hour message I saw:
