Unable to absorb some Spirits?
I was playing Rundal Boss Trial and I eventually got to the Red Cyclops.
After I weakened it with Rank 4 Shadow Spirit (not much Spirit Fuel) and Rank 7 Wings of Rage and finally the death sentence with Rank 1 Windmill, I tried absorbing the Spirit of the Red Cyclops but it wouldn't let me.
Is it natural for this to happen?
I've encountered a few monsters that I couldn't absorb the spirits from. Only one I can think of right now is the Grim Reaper in Guardian of Avon but I think there were more. Probably giant field bosses too or something.
Giant Spider bosses of Alby Intermediate for 4 refused to let me absorb their spirits, but I'm not entirely sure whether that's just because their hitboxes/targeting are completely messed up.
