Throwing Attack and Gold Strike

Are we not putting them back, Pyrus?

Infodude575 (talk)18:31, 7 September 2013

Wasn't there that time with (that Dual Gun incident) that caused Ranged Skills to be consisted of only Archery skills? But my insight on the matter is that at least Throwing Attack should be included in this category as the descriptions are in tandem:

Most Ranged skills utilize aiming.

This suggests that there are skills that don't require aiming (namely Throwing Attack and Gold Strike but Gold Strike is special)

Above the skill is a number indicating how much ammo the player has remaining.

Throwing Attack does this as well.

*The ammo count's color turns red once the player has 20 ammo or less. *The message "You're running out of arrows." or "You have 10 arrows left" will appear once the ammo count reaches to ten.

Ibid

The range of Ranged Skills is based on the weapon equipped.

Bone Atlatl will hit enemies further than Wood/Feather Atlatl as 1800>1500.

You see the point.

Oh ffs...

If you ask me, Throwing attack should've stayed the way it was. I can't help it if there's too many similarities with Archery :c...

Blass I don't remember if we came to a conclusion for it.

Infodude575 (talk)23:00, 7 September 2013

Actually, I intended to remove all references to "Ranged Weapons" altogether and move this category, I just forgot. Personally, I do not think Throwing Attack or Gold St trike are relevant.

Considering the only "true" range skill for Giants is Throwing, I feel it's relevant e-e;;

まそっぷ ! (talk)10:16, 8 September 2013

But we're removing the term ranged in terms of a skillset or weaponset (Archery Skills category), and we're adding a Ranged Damage Type, I think Sozen wanted to do pages on damage type. Throwing Attack isn't that much more relevant to Ranged Skills than Dual Guns is.

I wonder if that passive evasion affects these two skills...

Infodude575 (talk)23:54, 18 September 2013

probably.

まそっぷ ! (talk)00:03, 19 September 2013

I'm still disagreeing with Archery skills. I don't think anything uses the term "archery", and Evasion, Mana Shield, Light Armor Mastery, and Heavy Armor Mastery says "ranged".

Infodude575 (talk)17:23, 21 September 2013

There's also no such thing as a ranged skill. There's combat skills. There's melee damage, there's ranged damage. There is no ranged skills nor ranged weapons.

Pyro - (Talk)20:44, 21 September 2013

...nor ranged weapons.

—Pyrus

umm...

There are a number of long range weapons, but go get a bow first.

—Ranald with Ranged Attack Keyword

Ranged Weapons comes up more often, though usually accompanied by "Long" or "short"

Anyways, there's no use of "Ranged Skill" or "Archery skill", except in one instance with Tracy but he's just using it as a way to describe it. On occasion, I would see "Ranged Attack Skills" or something, but yeah...I'd say classify them with just what they do and stop trying to change stuff to make things harder to find...e-e

まそっぷ ! (talk)01:20, 22 September 2013

Just make them all "Combat Skills" 8D /kidding.orami.

we already did on the front page of the wiki

まそっぷ ! (talk)02:07, 22 September 2013

Do people actually use that???!

Serious question.

I personally don't, but it's nice to look at and I do use similar things on wikis of games I'm not as familiar with.
