Is it true that without Reforges, the Adventurer's L-Rod will still reveal artifacts even with just one beep (instead of the normal four; i.e. still some distance from the artifact location)?

Well, you still have to go to the location of the artifact and manually reveal it yourself, like with any regular L-Rod. However, once you hear the beeping sound (whether its 1, 2, 3, or 4 beeps), a special effect (looks like a yellow, sparkly tornado) rises from the ground and shows you the exact location of the artifact.
