Amount of Bait and Materials

This creates 100 bait. They stack to 300 (the amount in a regular fishing bait tin), so to get a full stack you need to do use the handicraft skill successfully 3 times. That's a total of 6 wood boards, 6 iron plates, 6 large nails, and 15 food wastes if there are no failures. I find the fastest way to get food waste is to deliberately mess up on some cooking that uses cheap ingredients, such as mixing sugar and salt. --~Shadoe 06:09, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Also, I added the bulleted info to the page. Feel free to edit it if you feel it could look better or could better match the format on other pages. Bullets note that it creates 100 bait, stacks to 300, isn't visible when equipped or sheathed, and is an ineffective shield. --~Shadoe 06:31, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Item Catch Rate

How much does this actually improve item catch rate?

Maxwell (talk)16:38, 28 April 2013

Apparently, the same improvement that the fishing rod gives. Not sure how much exactly, but the number 33 has something to do with it.

Does equipping the fishing rod and bait tin stacks both effects?

According to the item's description, yes.
