Talk:War Sword

From Mabinogi World Wiki

Can anyone verify this is even in NA mabi, I have yet to see anyone synth one or be carrying one despite numerous attempts.--Tehtammar 13:55, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Yes - Dreadhawk of Tarlach has one, he put up the picture -Claypot19
I personally made one myself as well in Ruairi.--Saix7 18:42, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
At what rank? Some people are trying to assert that it can only be made over a certain rank--Tehtammar 17:36, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
I made my War Sword at rank 8. -Dreadhawk 20:17, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
I made one today at rank B. It probably has nothing to do with rank. Nandattebayo 08:04, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

I assume you can make these items at any rank but with the low success rate, a higher rank in Synthesis is more or less, required. --Bryanneo 18:34, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Can these be made into egos? Kefka 01:45, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

No. -Dreadhawk 14:20, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

To Saix7: Which recipe did you use to make your War Sword? I made mine using the [Kite Shield, Gathering Knife(x2)] Recipe. I've done this recipe well over 300 times, however, with but the single success, which makes me wonder whether a mob dropped kite shield(such as from Shadow Archers in Shadow Missions) makes any difference from a store-bought one, as it was the mob dropped shield that gave me the success. I've alsmo made a SECOND War Sword(current owner: hanasazumi - guild member) with another recipe that is not listed and that I will not disclose(for now). -Dreadhawk 14:28, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

What is the purpose of withholding another recipe? It's not like it's a very popular skill or that the odds are high enough to make the swords even remotely close to common.--Tehtammar 20:55, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
There is no such thing as a fixed recipee. Synth is based on Value In -> Value out and Variable In -> Variable out. All items need the NPC value to be within a certain value relative to their own as well as having a certain combination of attributes (Like Heavy Armor, PD armor, Light Armor, Clothing, Magic Clothing, Shield, Glove, Blunt, Metal, etc). Having a higher value increases the chance of rare/expensive items while having the right attributes increases the chance of specific items. The war sword is a Metal Sword Single Handed Weapon with a medium value, so logicaly speaking it'd come from 2 metal swords of medium to high value mixed with something of very high value (my estimates suggest clothing or magic clothing, but shields probably work just as well). Personally, it is my belief that the highest NPC value item is what affects the outcome the most and the two lesser value items are the variables that affect the outcome. I believe that's why Nexon says having similar items (i.e. 2 swords) will most likely give a sword back. --Miyuna 11:28, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I'm basing my theory off of recipees and rates that people have reported with those recipees. It seems to be a 50/50 combination of price and type. Basicaly, if you listed out all the possible outcomes on a chart, higher npc value you increase the rate of rare or valuable items while decreasing the rate of common or garbage items, while a certain attribute (weapon item seems to be comprised of at least 2 "attirubtes") would increase the rate of items with that attribute, while decreasing the rate of items without that attribute, and greatly decreasing the rate of items which are against that attribute (I.e clothing vs armor). I still think that rare items and synth only items will have a low rate even with the best of recipees however, and would not expect more than a 20% yield even with a perfect recipee. It also seems to suggest that any recipee with a weapon attribute can spit out a warsword, though it might be as low a chance as .1% Tellos 11:36, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Dyeing

The sword hilt can be dyed with fixed dyes (including flashies) Nandattebayo 06:41, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Is it really egoable now?

I'm not kidding. I have not seen one at all and I'm wondering if you can really make a spirit weapon out of it.

EDIT: Sorry for the misspelling of 'Really'

Ego transfer

I have attempted both tarlach's and dorren's spirit transfer and my war sword from the event does not work. it is at 100(100%) prof. Anyone have ideas on what to do?

Dragon37211103:19, 30 October 2011

It probably cannot be transferred yet, however wither it a glitch or some idiot who put it up before the update. (G-15 S2 states that wars can be egoed)So I think someone just put the data up too early since they clearly cannot be egoed at this time.

Yes, there is the same conversation in the ego section of wiki. and people also can use a hack but i refuse to use it to obtain this ego.
