Doppleganger Versus Blinker

Doppleganger Versus Blinker

I managed to use a rank B doppleganger against a blinker, just as it was rising. Doppleganger did no damage, but the blinkers beam did no damage to me either, except for the extra damage at the end. Can someone test this to see if it is possible to use this to nullify blink damage?
