How do you kill one of these?
They kill me in one shot of their life drain, while I cant attack them at all, or get away from them. Yea, that's fair.Th3Evil5Ponge 02:59, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- The tips mention something about Frozen Blast and Sand Burst, but if you don't have those at a suitable rank, I can't think of any other way really. I figure freezing him with Frozen Blast (if possible) would be a good way to pound on him. My guild leader mentioned she used Awakening of Light, and Spear of Light once or twice to take out her Blinker (I think she's at Hard difficulty, with C Awakening or so). I followed her method, and I was able to kill the Blinker in one shot of Spear of Light Rank C, while Transformed (R1 Spirit+Sword of Order), on Adv. difficulty. --Rusty 03:34, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, you can use HP potions while it is draining your life. If you've got the supply, you can use them to prevent death. --Aramet (Talk) 04:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- The thing is, you can't knock it out of flight once it uses life drain on someone... I had it summon spawns, and then life drained me, only to realize I can't attack any of the mobs and got mauled by life drain... So much for balancing the first mission--Dra6o0n 07:00, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- I find that a high-ranked archer is also very good for tackling these Blinkers, especially if they're up in the air. Aside from Sand Blast, which does knock them out of the air for a quick stun, Archery does seem like a good alternative to those who are non-Alchemists (such as myself). Solo-wise, a pet is a good way to draw aggro while you use Magnum Shot (Rank 5 minimum is recommended) to take out large chunks of its HP at a time despite its Ranged PD. Doable for anything other than HM though. I have yet to test this on HM and see how that goes. Other than that... --Lt. Jessie 07:01, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

- You can poison blinkers. --Miyuna 12:29, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- I've found that the best way to kill them is either with a teammate with sand burst that can blind And having the other smash it or just having really good magnum shot. On a side note, I can't use frozen blast on a blinker in mid air. Someone should probably note this on the info page.

- Setting up a barrier between yourself and the blinker will prevent it from draining you. Tested it multiple times in different missions and it's proven so far to be a method that works. So stop removing the tip from wiki. --Damosthenes 08:30, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Nice tips... But what about those who are not archers or alchemists? I use a mix of magic and melee, and frankly I cannot hit them in the air :|--Marthian 03:14, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
The easiest way I've found to killing these is with the mixture of Alchemy and Melee.
- Have your Weapon slots to have your main weapon and a Cylinder.
- Use Sand Burst on the Blinker.
- Switch to your main weapon via Tab or W and use Windmill.
- Switch back to your Cylinder and use Sand Burst.
And voila! Due to Sand Burst's blind time, and Windmill's invincibility frames, even if the Blinker loads Drain after you windmill, it should finish loading it before your windmill animation finishes. Since the Blinker just floats there for a few seconds if it can't target anything immediately, it gives you just enough time to Switch + Use Sand Burst. However, I tested this method using a Earth Cylinder, which may or may not affect the Blind Time of the Blinker. If your latency isn't so great, or you're feeling lag, this isn't a very great method, but hey, it works if you don't have any lag. Use at your own risk~ --ZephyreTALK 08:59, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Doesn't the rank of sand burst also matter? --- Angevon (Talk) 14:38, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Only depending on what difficulty the Blinker is. I've found out that it is VERY difficult to miss with Sand Burst once you reach the CP restriction. I'm at rank 6, and I've only failed to blind something once even though it was within the CP restriction (Gray Town Rat around rank A or 9 Sand Burst), excluding Mimics. So basically, if you have rank A Sand Burst, this tactic works in Hardmode. --ZephyreTALK 16:22, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
What knocks them down from flight once they are in mid-air?
I'm pretty sure that you can't really knock it back down to the ground(melee-able range) Short of killing it,except with blinding Sand Burst. I haven't tested it though, I'ma try all attacks that can affect them in mid-air.--Pyroblade 00:04, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Advanced Heavy Stander?
I'm pretty sure it has AHS since it cannot be stunned, but somehow in the middle of pet revolver my eagle is able to knock it down. After that, it just looses its inability to knockdown and I can knock it down with smash and firebolt. However I still can't stun it with normal attack and lightningbolt. Is this suppose to happen or it's just another bug? --Linguini 07:25, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

I ran Ghost of Partholon Elite and this Alchemist used Frozen Blast on it. While we were wailing on its frozen... eye, SOMEHOW it was able to use Flight (we couldn't hit it even though it was still visually shown to be on the ground) and executed the beam on me!
Is this a glitch or what?!
