My engraved control bar got- control marionette crit +4% and control marionette min dmg +6... Kinda weak and it doesn't boost strength or dex.
I think this means the damage is added directly to marionette, not to the player's base damage to count as '70%' in the equation.
Yes, it is direct. It adds to Control Marionette's bonus.
I think you were just unlucky, here.
