The Unofficial Rules before submitting Questions
Since a lot of people has neglected to edit this page properly, whether this is due to inability to follow the editing courtesy, or other factors, I thought I should set up an unofficial guidelines for everyone to follow, to avoid less confusion in the future.
1.) Keep the list in Alphabetical Order
Before you start editting, make sure you post the questions in their alphabetical spot. Don't be lazy and just JAB it in there and expecting other person to clean up after your mess. Because if somebody has to do that, it slows their own progress with posting up their own questions just to take care of the mistakes that you've made. The reason for this is so we can have the questions organized and to avoid repetition, in the event that other users also have the similiar questions.
2.) DO NOT change the actual Question's grammar or spelling
Don't even change the questions that you received from the quiz, PERIOD. For example if you have a question asking if
"You can obtain a title by capturing a bear in a single blow"
don't change it to
"You can obtain a title by slaying a bear in a single blow"
This also go for abbreviation such as changing "United States" to "U.S"
The reason for that is so when people try to search for the exact question in game it won't give them a Search Failed message. Remember that players only have 10 second to look up for the answer, so don't edit the questions in Anyway, Shapes and Forms, and make sure they're within game context. The only exception to this rules is the Capitalization, because search engine won't care whether the words are capitalized or not.
3.) DO NOT delete any questions
I don't care if some questions asked during the quiz is so simple as "Ferghus is a Blacksmith in Tir Chonaill", LEAVE THE QUESTION ALONE. There may be some people who are new to the game that don't know the answer to this question. So if there are any questions that are so basic, DON'T DELETE IT and shun other people away.
Also if you see a similiar question/answer but in a different wordings, don't delete it. You can't tell whether that was intentional or not by NEXON staffs. Remember when people hit Control + F, they're hoping to get a highlight on words, so don't take their chances away just because a similar question already existed and you decided to remove it.
4.) Avoid posting a question that you Can't Remember
If you can't remember the exact phrases for the Question, then put some notice around it. If you can't remember the answer to the question at all, DON'T POST IT. The last thing this website needs is to have players complaining about Mabinogi World Wiki giving out an "incorrect" information. The best way to grab the questions from the Quiz is with a Video Recorder. There's already one in the game at the bottom right icon. Just click on it when the quiz starts, and review it after it's over. Then find out whether the Questions are True or False and post it.
5.) If the Question's answer is wrong, DON'T CHANGE IT.
Once in awhile you might be receiving an answer that isn't 'Correct' during the Quiz. If that's the case, just abide by it and put a notice such as (Factual Incorrect) message around the question. But don't edit the answer from FALSE to TRUE and vice versa, because it won't change the game mechanic. And in the end, you'll provide players with a Wrong information.
6.) Preview the Questions before you hit Submit
Remember to preview any questions in their appropriate spot before you hit submit. Otherwise you'll have other editors worrying whether that question is factual incorrect or not. So to avoid mass confusion, remember to double check your questions.
Hopefully after reading this, there will be less mistakes made in the future. Remember that this event will only lasts for 2 weeks, so keep those questions coming. Every time you submit a question, you'll increase the players chance of winning.
Thanks for reading.
So I'm assuming it's safe to alphabetize someone else's questions. Also, thanks for posting some sort of guideline and hopefully people follow the guide so everything is organized. :3--PhobieRouge 16:19, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately recording the quiz is not efficient after question 20, it only records for 5 minutes, no longer. Just a word of warning
why is alphabetizing the list even relevant? avoiding repetition isn't a valid reason--as soon as you start using ctrl + f during the quiz, alphabetization no longer matters
unless i'm missing some key detail
Alphabetizing looks clean, it's how we normally (if not always) format lists for events, and it does help with preventing repetition to an extent (some editors don't take a minute or two to skim/CTRL-F through the list; however, it does help those that are cleaning up the page).
So, we could just organize them by keyword, or genre, or just throw everything in there. Or settle with the usual alphabetizing, of which I personally prefer. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but, if anything, it does take a little more time due to the sorting.
I'd like a confirmation before this is added, please.
"Pierrick believes he is the most eligible bachelor" is listed as false, however when we were presented with the question "Pierrick in Tailteann believes he's most eligible bachelor", everyone who was in X was eliminated. Should this be included in the list of correct answers without removing the former?
That's weird, the exact opposite happens to us.
We got the question "Pierrick in Taillteann thinks he's the most eligible bachelor", and everyone who was on TRUE got removed.
Are you sure your exact question was
Pierrick in Taillteann believes he's the most eligible bachelor
and not
Pierrick in Taillteann thinks he's the most eligible bachelor
Please reply soon so we can get this matter over with.
Every time that "Pierrick in Taillteann thinks he's the most eligible bachelor" has come up for me, it's been true. Perhaps there are two very similar phrases that are tricking people. The next time it comes up I'll screen shot it.
I noticed that Nexon often corrected mistakes they made in their question, both about the syntax and the truth. So I guess what happened here is that. Since they made a mistake, they corrected the answer, and took the opportunity to change a word or two.
I don't think that's the case here. I believe the question is actually in the mix twice. Once as false, and once as true. I just received it again, and it was false this time.
I have just witnessed this ambiguous question myself, and it appears that the preposition is the determining factor. Whenever the question begins with "Pierrick of Taillteann," it registers as true. Because it was "Pierrick in Taillteann" this time, it registered as false.
