Ancient Aggro...?

Three Brown Dire Adult Wolves in one spot, I attacked one of them and all of a sudden this other one attacked me and the one I targeted dropped aggro...

Does Ancient affect aggro or were wolves always like this?

Wolves I believe, were always like that. Skeleton wolves act the same sometimes.

I remember Skeleton Wolves doing that, but other wolves die too fast for me before their AI can be examined.
