Calculating success
Does the failure from this potion take into effect after all other modifiers (production mastery bonus, skill rank, etc), or before them? --Ari-kun 22:14, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Let's say you're at Refining Rank 5 and are trying to refine an Iron Ingot. The base chance is 95%, without taking into account Dexterity, Production Mastery or Monday's effects. Adding those into account, however, with Rank 1 Production Mastery (+15%), 80 Dex (+20%), and Monday's production effect (+10%?) for a total of +45% to the success rate, it's more than enough to push the success % to the cap of 99%.
If the production failure's -20% took place after all of that, the actual success rate would be 79% despite all of those modifiers. If the failure potion took place *before* those modifiers, however, the success rate would still be 99%, because the negative modifier would still be offset by the larger bonus (45% in this example).
That's why I ask, because if the latter is true, then this potion is a complete waste of money.
