Source of magic balance cap assumption

Source of magic balance cap assumption

Has anyone actually done tests to confirm that magic balance is capped, or did someone throw the number 100% up there just because it's not 80? If it really is capped, could someone please give me a link to a record of an experiment that proved it (preferably one that was done after the magic dmg rebalance) so I don't have to test it myself?Sozen Cratos Focker (talk) 17:23, 12 February 2013 (PST)

I don't have the data on hand, but from long experience as a mage I can tell you with certainty that yes, in fact, magic balance does cap at 100%. You can verify with JP wiki if you like.

So, even with over 1k int, you still do less than the max dmg almost 50% of the time?

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)06:39, 28 February 2013

From my own memory I wouldn't say it's 50%. Downward fluctuations in damage happen often, but it's definitely not half the time.

To answer your other question, I'm generally sporting 1k+ Int at any given time while not wearing anything, even a title.

MegaMan Trigger (talk)17:29, 2 March 2013

If the occurrence of downward fluctuations is significantly less than half, that would suggest that the cap, if there even is one, is more than 100%.

Could you tell me how often you get less than your max dmg for a spell with a wide min-max range?

How high have you gotten your int?

Edit: clicked the wrong reply button; meant to make that a reply to MegaMan Trigger's post, not my own.

It's over one thousaaand. Really, I think Trigger has been a mage for the longest time.
