Fragment of a discussion from User talk:Info

Don't bring that back up please.

But, what if (I said "if") the information was truly relevant.
Earlier, Tellos undid my edits on the Shadow Spirit page, claiming that calling the shadows "spirits" (which is what they were stated in-game) was "pointless". Someone else undid it because the information was accurate.

Btw, is there anything wrong with adding the links and capitalizing the first letter of a main word, like Protection?

I'm the other user you're talking about there.

You did go through the article and change 'shadow/s' to 'spirit/s' where applicable, that was good. However, with that same edit you snuck in some other changes that weren't really necessary, most prominently *Shadow Spirit is Cichol's skill, and as such can be used regardless of which Goddess the player chooses. That line in particular I had to revert when I was undoing Tellos' undo.. @_@

This isn't the TVTropes Wiki; splitting one word into multiple links confuses the reader and breaks the flow of the page. In addition, the Shadow Spirit page doesn't even have a spoiler tag; naming the goddesses whose powers you can use on the page is potentially a bad idea.

The only other thing to say is, multiple consecutive edits that achieve different purposes are better than a single edit that changes a ton of stuff. I do this too, and I'm working on it, but if you're going to do something like fix the use of the word "shadow", do that, but make unrelated changes in separate edits, to keep the edit summaries relevant and make it easier for everybody who does quality control.

Thanks.

No one, not even the policy (at least not from what I saw), said I could split a word into two links. And I don't see how naming Morrighan and Neamhain on that page is a "spoiler".

Anyway this argument is getting a little too long...

Infodude57511:59, 15 March 2011

I'm not an authority figure telling you you're breaking the rules. I'm a user telling another user that while it's not explicitly said you can't do that, it's (IMO) bad practice and a horrible stylistic decision.

Re: spoilers, yeah I guess it's not particularly cared about at least in that section, I was going to say someone who hasn't beaten G10 wouldn't know things, but if they're in that part of the wiki they're there to learn them I guess. Maybe most of the demi pages need spoiler warnings at the top...

I'm specifically talking about the trivias. No attention to whatever you guys may be arguing about.

mabinogi and vindictus is different game, different world.

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Shall we close this discussion now?

I agree that we should stop. Gosh this must be one of the longest arguments in history.

But I agree with Pyro though, should we make a page involving relations between Mabinogi: Fantasy Life and Vindictus? I mean, a similar page exists between the Irish Mythology...

Infodude57518:33, 15 March 2011

it's like putting detail about bagel in the triva for croissant page because they are both made of flours.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG18:45, 15 March 2011

...? I'm sorry, but I don't understand.

Infodude57518:46, 15 March 2011

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Bagel and Croissant are both made with flours but putting triva about bagel in croissant page doesn't make sense.

maybe my comparison is poor.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG18:46, 15 March 2011

Well... They do have a lot of stuff related, right?

Infodude57518:58, 15 March 2011

Let me put it another way: would you write a comparative thesis on the similarities between dishwashers and microwaves just because they're both cuboid, have a side that opens on a hinge, and plug into your wall outlet?

Domirade [Tarlach]21:04, 15 March 2011

A human and a mushroom are both comprised of cells, so why aren't humans defined in mushroom's terms?
